Bruce in south central PA

Currently using:

SM5 52 degree

Ping S56 56 degree sand wedge

Ping Tour 60 degree lob wedge

Used a Hogan Beryllium copper wedge for many years in 80s and into 90s—haven't found anything that gives the same feel and confidence in the 10 to 40 yard range. Struggling to spin and stop balls from 30 to 50 yards. Would love to try the new/old design and materials.

Current index: 13.4

Luc from Alberta

Vokey SM5 (52-56 and 60 degree)

Strenghts: rarely miss a green from inside 125

Weaknesses: Chipping and short pitches, I tend to chunk the ball so therefore I am often short

5.6 index (6 hdcp at my course)

P.S. Thanks for this chance, my very first set of clubs were Hogan blades given to me by my neighbor. I was 11 years old and didn't know any better so I loved them but I would never buy clubs like that today, too difficult to hit! And I even had a 2 iron in that set, which I did hit!!!

-Driver: Taylormade M3 (Project X Hzrdus Yellow 6.0 set at 10.5 degree)

-3 wood: Cobra King F6 (stiff shaft set at 15.5 degree)

-Hybrids: Cobra F7 stiff shaft set at 19.5 and 23.5 degree

-Irons: Mizuno JPX 919 forged 5 to PW ( Project X LZ 6.5)

-Wedges: Vokey SM5, 50, 54 and 58 degree

-Putter: Odyssey O-Works Red #7 (33 inches)

I play between 70 to 80 rounds per year. Living in Alberta, Canada, our season is shorter and with work, that is all I can get in, but watch out when I retire...

P.S. The picture is from my favorite course so far.

Ben Hogan Equalizer Wedges

Another week, another review opportunity for you, fellow Golf Spies! And we think you're going to really like this one.

There's been plenty of chatter here and in social media on the new Equalizer wedges from Ben Hogan. 1025 forged, enhanced V-Sole, Progressive Center of Mass - there's a lot here to get you intrigued, and we want four of you to test, review and keep a 3-wedge set of Hogan Equalizers, and let us know if they're the real deal.

attachicon.gifBen-Hogan-Equalizer-Wedges-4.jpg

TESTERS WANTED:

Four of you will be chosen to review a 52-56-60 set of Equalizers with your choice of shafts offered by Hogan. In addition, Hogan will tweak the lies and swing weights to fit your specs. And if you need the lofts adjusted a degree or so, they'll do that, too.

This review opportunity is open to any avid golfer in the US and Canada.

HOW TO APPLY:

As you all know, we take our member reviews pretty seriously. You'll be asked for a full two-month commitment to take these things to the range and the course, and follow a detailed template to write up a thoughtful, detailed and - most importantly - honest review.

To apply, tell us in this thread (and ONLY in this thread!):

First name/Home state or province

Current wedges

Short game strengths/weaknesses

Current handicap

We'll announce the testers in this thread next week, so make sure you check back. Thanks for applying, and Good Luck!!!

Strengths- Chipping from around the green is generally good

weakness- Full shots with weges such as these (tend to feel more                                    comfortable knocking down a pitching wedge)
