Do you wear long pants all year round like the Pros?

I prefer wearing pants and do most of the year. Even when it's 90 plus I still wear pants. When nothing is clean I wear the shorts.

If you are anywhere near an Izod outlet, check out their microfiber golf pants. Extremely light. And the price is right.

Target also sells microfiber pants by Haggar that I like. Both work well for me when I volunteer on hot summer days.

long pants all year- I dont want to see certain peoples legs that resemble a chewed up piece of string dangling out of the cavernous void they call a pant bottom.

Ladies on the other hand should positively be encouraged to wear shorts ;)

I play in a work league and go to the course from the office and I still change into shorts.

I'd be willing to bet that a large majority of pros would wear shorts if it was allowed. Whenever I see pics online of them playing in non competitive rounds they're wearing shorts.

I'm from Texas so pants aren't a real option in the hottest part of summer. I will wear them at tournaments but I'm weird too.

Just for my own amusement, I'm reading this as saying that you wear your shorts over your pants :) That would definitely be mixing it up :)

Second this. Also TM, Nike and under Armor all have light weight, moisture wicking pants. I usually go with the Haggar brand.

You keep referring to "down here" - where is down here?

The Deep South. Louisiana.

Get ready to have 5-6 gloves in rotation each round, shirt soaked through by the third hole, refilling water every chance one gets, sweat dripping in the eyes as the band in one's hat is soaked, and sweat flying off the forearms on each swing. 95* with a heat index of 105* and the harshest humidity in the States. Good fun!

I have seen at least 10 golfers in pants pass-out down here. Even the yearly Cotton States Tournament allows golfers to wear shorts.

It's crazy hot!

Man that is some heat you describe- you gotta come to Scotland, lovely and cool in Summer, about 70* no humidity, light breeze meaning you pull on a light windcheater and have hot coffee at the half way house. No sweating......except over that 3 foot downhill left to right putt for the match lol

Calm down, kid.

Yeah, y'alls humidity it pretty high, seen it about as high in Florida, and I've lived in other states that get a lot hotter than you've ever seen. So don't be acting like you've got the market cornered on hot weather.

Just checking that you're not in one of those states where it's only sorta hot.

Really?! “Calm down kid.”

Wow.

If you couldn't read it as Being funny, then you calm down, KID.

“Don't be actin...”

You might learn that using language like this DOES make a person hot.

But, I'm not the first person you did this to.

Next time, assume the message is “light”.

Good gracious.

Shorts if I can, even if I am also wearing a jacket. Never understood why the pros have to wear pants only and not have the option—strikes me as another holdover of rules/etiquette that don't need to apply anymore.

Pants for me. If I wore shorts, the cart girls would never get around since they would want to hang around me and my sexy legs [emoji16][emoji23]🤣. Pants offer protection against sunburn and thickets when looking for my ball in the woods [emoji16] also I like the style. I do have golf shorts, but strangely enough only tend to wear them out with friends or dinner, just never in the course.

same here! I'm always in the woods getting my ball so I need the protection. I bought under armour match play pants in 5 colors. I also can't stand the sight of grown men's legs.

during a hot spell here once when it was in the high 80's (yes it can happen) a course I went to gave me into trouble for arriving without a jacket on, then when I asked about wearing shorts they said that was ok as long as they were knee length shorts and I wore knee length socks. Needless to say I never went back. Some courses here are very snobby which is a shame. However we have a lot of choice and our (pantless) legs do the talking, by walking.
