Wedgie
I had some time to kill today so went to golfers warehouse to hit all the drivers. Pulled a Z565 out of the demo bin and it was easily 20 yards longer than all the new stuff. It had a HZRDUS yellow installed. I'm curious if anyone knows if this is the real deal shaft or a “made for Srixon†shaft? I looked at srixon.com and the black and yellow HZRDUS shafts are options but still not sure. Any help is appreciated. RickyBobby_PR
It's a no ipcharge shaft from Srixon so it's not the handcrafted version. PX non handcrafted are built to the same specs as their handcrafted. If it works for you with that head does it really matter if it's a real deal or made for? Yes it worked for me and I made the purchase on the spot. I need distance and this gave it to me and the most accurate of the lot too. I was really just curious because I saw it was a no up charge shaft and could not believe the difference the shaft made for me. I'm talking 30 years of golf and have never seen results like this kind of difference. If I get half the results I got from the monitor on the course it will really help me. PMookie
They are not the same shafts... Read the article that MGS did late last year. Industry insiders who work for shaft companies who I've spoken to say the marketing says they're the same, but they're not even close. Watered-down, built for the masses, and if they were the same, why is one $300-$400 aftermarket? That should tell you all you need to know. There is an “handcrafted†stamp on the non-mass produced ones. But, if the mass produced one works, it's all good. cnosil
This is one of the things that happens with trade in/ use club markets. For a place that goes by the pga value guide, there isn't an allowance for shafts. In the OPs case it appears he got a hand crafted shaft for a great price. In other cases you may get a made for. Impossible to tell unless you know what you are looking for. Hope the club works for you on the course. If not, you might be able to get your money back just on the shaft alone. DPattGolf
https://mygolfspy.com/made-for-shafts-a-closer-look/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Mass produced and "Made for" are two very different things. In this case the Mass Produced line is still a true aftermarket shaft and nearly identical to the Handcrafted line. The only real difference is that the Handcrafted line maybe has slightly tighter tolerances and is more expensive. * Staff Professional* Driver: Stealth Plus+ (7.25*) - Fujikura Ventus Black 6X Tipped 1" 3 Wood: Stealth Plus+ (14.25*) - Fujikura Ventus Blue 7x Tipped 1" Driving Iron: P790 UDI 2 iron - HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 100 6.5 4 Iron: P790 - KBS C-Taper 130 X Irons (5-7) P7MC - KBS C-Taper 130 X Irons (8-P) P7MB - KBS C-Taper 130 X Wedges: MG3 Black 50.09 / 55.11 - KBS TOUR FLT 130 X 60* Wedge: High Toe Raw - KBS Tour 130 X Putter: Custom Black ER2 or Custom Black Del Monte Bag: FlexTech Stand Bag Glove: Tour Preferred Glove Ball: TP5X #11 RangeFinder: R1 Smart Rangefinder Instagram: @dpattgolf
Kor.A.Door
Non handcrafted versions are not made for. I have hzrdus yellow shafts in my driver and fairway wood. Both are aftermarket and neither are handcrafted Yep that's correct from I've heard and read. We have a guy in our group that is pretty “plugged in†with the equipment, and has lots of people on the inside. One is produced by machine the other is hand made, there are some differences in the shafts, but not much they both go through good QC measures so even if it it's the machine made product, it is still a really really good shaft. Wedgie
I played the club today and it is definitely 20 yards longer and straighter out on the course than what I am coming from. I'm fairly certain this is a bit too much shaft for me but it has opened my eyes to what a high level fitting will do for a guy like me if I got the right shaft and not the minimal choices I get on a fitting cart. I watch some of the TXG videos and thought no way. Now I'm thinking I need to go to Toronto. Wedgie
What setup did you have before Wedgie? I was alternating between the Mizuno ST180 and Cobra F8. Stock shafts in each. I was fit for both. Interestingly enough the fitter had me at 11.5 loft on Mizuno and the Cobra rep (I won the F8 at an outing) had me at 8.5.
