I either have my son record it, or I use an older car cell phone holder that I wedge in between my clubs in my bag to hold my phone.

Just use my phone. Have someone record for me or find a stand to hold the phone. Height should be hand high for down the line and face on and directly in line with you hands for down the line.

Something like you linked to Stroker will probably work just fine. I have a similar product. I used to use my phone and a free app called Hudi.

I don't mess with it much any more but at the time it worked beautifully.

Michael Breed also has an excellent book called, "A picture Perfect Swing" lots of good info about recording your swing. But you can probably do just fine without it.

I have one of the Selfie Golf mounts, and I like it. Mines currently attached to my alignment stick in my bag, so whenever I want to record my swing, just pull out the stick and put my phone in the mount and voila. Takes 10 seconds.

I have a go pro tripod, you know one of those with the crazy looking legs, and use my phone stand with it.  I wedge it into my bag between my clubs and then move the bag where I want to record.  Not the prettiest way of doing things but it works pretty well!

Similar to RickeyBobby I bought a kobratech flexible tripod. It can sit flat on the grioujd stand about 6 to 8 inches off the ground. Or wrap around snything to give you a desired height. I've wrapped it around the bars on a golf cart , on my golf bag, just about anything. It has a remote as well so you can take pictures with it that are regulsr oics, not selfie style.

I actually just picked one of these up last week.  I attached it to an alignment stick in the ground and used it for one Driver swing on the course.    by itself its kinda wavy, but i think if you use one of the secondary clips that come with it to secure it to your bag it would work great.

I record my swing LOTS. One or two range sessions a week, and though I'm not 100% satisfied, I use a GoPro clamped to either my bag or a chair. I can use their app to start and stop recordings from my phone, and download the video to Coaches Eye analysis app. It's not perfect, but it does about 90% of what I want from it.

I also have a RX100iv which has a much better quality recording, but the workflow is just awkward. It's important to me to get speedy feedback, and so far I haven't figured out how to get that out of the Sony.

I don't know of any value to recording a golf swing. I think video equipment caused the golf instruction industry to take a turn for the worse.

The problem I observed, and it started at the time when video technology became readily available, is that both instructors and students started focusing on "in swing positions".

Video gave instructors the opportunity to break down the swing into multiple component parts, and students began thinking about their swing the same way. So, video caused both instructors and students to make the swing much too complicated.

I can understand both sides of this.... video use allows a student to see exactly what an instructor is getting at in regards to various corrections however the swing shouldn't be so robotic that you lose any natural "feel".

I do think that the pros far outweigh the cons in video recording and analysis of a golf swing.  No two swings are exactly the same but hopefully similar enough to have a clearer picture of various body positions necessary which will lead to optimal success.

Sure!! Not a problem. Just brush up on talking points for doctors, specialists, health care, social security, and everything politics, golf cart accessories and how to bypass the governor then you'll fit right in

Also need a handful of injuries, ailments and multiple problems. Welcome to old fart land. Tee times early in the morning because nobody sleeps thru the night or they stay up after the third bathroom break overnight.

Agree. Seeing what going on imo is a big help because as many know what one feels isn't what is actually happening all the time. Some learn visually, others thru feelings and some with both. There's no right or wrong way and whatever works for a golfer they should do.

We all have iPhones and take the video of the swing and forward it usually text to the players. Nothing sophisticated just basic.

The funny part is audio picks up the background “chatter” between the 4some and it's priceless. One video had 2 of our 4some arguing about a putt that wasn't conceded on the previous hole. Definitely funny but adult content, can't share.

This is it. For me it's a feels vs reals, and there are some real things you can learn from what your swing looks like. I'm not trying to get into positions, or stay on some imaginary plane, but I am trying to affect some of the ways the clubs and hands move, and it's great seeing if I'm actually getting that done on video. Right now I'm working on getting the club shallow in the downswing and to try to defeat high/flipping hands. It's not about some "ideal" positions, but it does show some improvements I've been able to make.
