Dirty Rangefinder, how to clean?

Recommended Posts

Hey,

My trusty Bushnell 1600 Tournament has seen better days. Im curious if anyone has any special tips on cleaning the optics? I plan to use a camera lens cleaning tool as the lenses are sunken into the frame.

Let me know if I should try anything else.

Thanks,

Adam

It depends on what is dirty. If the body itself is dirty use a wash cloth that is slightly damp with warm water. The lenses itself, then a camera cleaning too may work. I use a microfiber cloth that you can get pretty much anywhere now a days.

One of the few benefits of wearing prescription glasses on the course is I have plenty of eyeglass wipes which I also use on the rangefinder.

Eye glass cleaner for the lenses and a semi-damp rag for the body. If there's dirt somehow inside the lens, I think the only option is to send it back to Bushnell (I have the 1500 and it's still going strong except for the ocular eyepiece that came off).
