bens197
I picked up my G400 LST today from my local shop. 8.5 with a HZRDUS Yellow (non-handcrafted) 6.0. The demo felt great and full disclosure, this is the first stiff shaft club I've played since 1998. My SS was 105-110 but had a mild tail with the 6.5. I swung the 6.0 and I was hitting some nice straight balls with a soft cut or draw. This club is a rocket launcher. That's really all I can say that isn't technical or hasn't already been said. I've always rotated between PING and Titleist drivers and felt that the Titleist was better for control and the PING's were artillery. That's going back to the TiSi, si3, G2 and now this. The TiSi had the stock X, Grafalloy Blue in the si3 and an Accra T-60 M5 in the G2. I hope to share more from the course as the season progresses. chisag
... I said after the PGA Show this year, that 2018 might be the best year for clubs I can remember. So many great drivers out there and the G400 should be at or near the top of any demo list along with the M4, F8/F8+ and Rogue series. And if it fits you, the HRZDUS Yellow can be a game changer. I have talked to and read several fitters that had customers make a pretty big yardage increase with the Yellow, more than most shafts they have fit players into. G400 LS and Yellow sounds like a kiler combo. Driver: Qi10 10.5* ... Ventus Red Velocore 5R Fairway: Qi10 5 wood ... Kai'li Blue 60R Hybrids: 430 Hybrid 22*... Diamana LTD 65r DHy #4 ... I have talked to and read several fitters that had customers make a pretty big yardage increase with the Yellow, more than most shafts they have fit players into. G400 LS and Yellow sounds like a kiler combo. This is my first big equipment change in a long time. It's amazing to me how far most gear has come. Even with COR maxed out, the new fix seems to be geared towards making clubs with better misses. I tried the G400, the Max and ended with the LST. The LST numbers were ridiculously better than my gamer (913 D3). I don't feel the need to step into it, I can truly let the club make it work. I'm looking for feedback from players who are swinging the yellow and what other shafts they've used in a comparable range. For me, launch angle went from composite ranges of 18* down to 11* and backspin from 3600 down to 1900. The strange thing was I could still hit the Titleist carry 260-270 nonissue. I was pleased with that not knowing what was out there. Imagine how many others are missing out. BenjaminButtonz
Hope she's a Keeper! Glad you found your go-to gamer. I never tried the LS but did swing a G400 max and a G400 at my driver fitting a few weeks back. Ended up bringing home a Callaway Fusion with a Fujikura Speeder Evo 2 TS 665 shaft in stiff flex. She outperformed every driver I hit as far as accuracy goes. When my first 3 swings were .8 yards averaging off target line I knew she was the one. Wasn't quite as long as the newer stuff, but not by much at all. And I'll take accuracy over 10 yards any day. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy Papa-Bear was Here. The feel is a lot different and I'm trying to locate the sweet spot on the face. I know it sounds silly since the head is a weapon. I've been hitting a little low and near the heel but this is also a longer club than I'm used to. I'm glad that Callaway worked for you. The MGS results support your decision and I'm happy to hear you're having success. PING Apologist #9
Love it!. Though I got fitted into the SFT head, I too found better performance with a stiff flex shaft which is a departure from my mid-flex G-series similar to your change. What do you think of the sound it makes? For me the difference between the tin can sound of my "on-the-way out" G and this keeper G400 is day-and--night. This profile is stout enough to support me and let me age gracefully 🤣 The sound reminds me of the Titleist 905T driver. There is more “thwack†and less PING.
