I always tee it up. Just gives me a better feel.

Any time I can put it on a peg I do it. I guarantee myself a perfect lie if nothing else.

As usual I am the odd man out. Depends on the shot and what it dictates for me. On short par 3s that dictate a PW 9 or 8 iron I do not tee up. Some 7 iron shots I do not tee up but always tee up with a mid or long iron. As a footnote on holes I use the 3 wood or hybrid on ( when I carry a hybrid) I do it Laura Davies style as in taking the club and bumping up the turf for a tee. I also do that with a driver if I am hitting a stinger

I'm with ya on "depends on the shot". My swing is almost sweeping with a very light divot. When I tee up, I get a ton of height but no extra distance. When I need to drop a shot from the atmosphere to hold the green better or if the green's elevated, I'll tee up. Also if the tee box is all munched I'll hit off the tee. I prefer to play off the deck when I can but here in AZ you don't really get greens or tee boxes that cooperate all that often.. unless you're dropping $100+ per round on one of them fancy courses.

Always tee it up!  If its good enough for the Golden Bear, then it's good enough for me. 

 

Now grant it, I always use a half of a tee.  I will break a full tee if I can't find one on the tee box.

I always tee it up.Infact when my shoulder is healed I might tee it up for a while on every shot.Just to alleviate the flinch from hitting the turf
