Gonna be in Gatlinburg next week with friends. Can anyone recommend a golf course?

Since I don't know any of the courses, I reached into my golfball closet and secured two dozen Pro V1 “OP's”.......(Other People's).

 

Just don't want to lose a bunch of new balls.

Gatlinburg country club and Sevierville golf club. You will see Sevierville on your way in by the waterpark. Beautiful great course but it's outside of Gatlinburg closer to Pigeon Forge. At most a 30 min drive if that.

 

Gatlinburg is a fun course. Little right in spots. Number 12 is par 3 that's about a mile straight down.

 

I would say def play those two if you're trying to play more than once. If you're only playing once then Sevierville is the better shape more expensive club.

 

If you want to play a 3rd time and drive just a bit further you have River Islands in Kodak. Great course, gone a little downhill over the years-used to be AMAZING. Zoysia fairways. Bunkers are sandless though so not as great as it could be.

 

Lastly Patriot Hills in Jefferson City. Fun course, not long. Just a good course.

 

Patriot hills and River Island would be about an hour drive.

Gatlinburg Country Club (up behind Dollywood) has a very unique par 3. You're at least 200 feet above the green on the tee box off the side of a cliff to the green.

Bent Creek was fun. The creek must have crossed the fairway 40 times. Only lost 5 balls ⛳️. Did not play well, but had some great shots and enjoyed the day. Looks like the rest of the week will be a washout, thanks to Alberto.

After I called and cancelled, We decided to drive by the course because it was 20 min away. It was just sprinkling and others were going out, so we decided to give it a go. Sprinkled turned into drizzle then stopped on the last hole. I am glad we decided to drive by, I shot a 47/39:86. We played the Highlands course which had 5 holes down by the river and the rest on the sides of the mountains. Believe me, it was worth every bit of the $49 we paid. I paid $59 because I had my wife as a rider($10). It was very close to a TPC quality course. They have two 18's so we are hoping to play a second round there.

It's a great course. Used to be called Eagles Landing. Was always nice then too. They've really socked some money into it now but agree it's worth it. Glad you enjoyed some TN golf!
