I'm in the market for some players forgiving clubs and these might be up for the challenge.  I'll reserve my true judgement about looks until we get something more official.  I had some Srixon irons a couple of years ago and hit them well but thought the G10's would help me play better.  I hope Srixon provides some irons and driver's for Mygolfspy forum member's to test.

Just saw them in person.  Z565 and Z545 look better.  Only way they can salvage this set is to release it in all Black.

I think the 785's look sleek and nice.  They look forgiving and always love forged.  I hope the forum will get a chance to test these bad boys.  Come on Srixon, do the right thing.  Let the regular joe test these things out.

Reserving judgement until I actually get a chance to hit them side by side with my 565/765 combo set. They could be the greatest set ever made. The 585 reminds me a little of the Lynx Black Cat irons. Those were not all bad....

I hit these on my range, along with the new woods...  All I can say is that I will be having a new set in the bag in 3-5 weeks..

They look much better in person than they do in pictures.  The overall club looks better than their predecessors.  The only place I think it took a step back is the badging

You lucky dog...so you haven't received the irons from your fitting then?

I play the 565's and love everything about them, the looks, the feel, and the performance. Not sure what they were thinking here...lost for words :

I'm hoping they won't be that bad in person. I have an interest in them.

Wow, those make my PE2's look good .  What's with all this "dampening" stuff?  That's the one thing I really don't like about the G400's I recently hit during my iron fitting session.  A rather ugly chunk of rubber stuck on the backside of an otherwise perfectly good iron.  My first thought was how long it would be before one pops off. It seems to me the mfg's. design and marketing folks are kind of in a bling phase.

I have no issue with the aesthetics of the 585.  I do have an issue with the price, however.  Quite salty compared to JPX 919 Forged, Cobra Forged Tec Black and P790.

I've been Hot to try the Srixon 585. Yesterday there was a Cleveland/Srixon Demo Day but unfortunately the War Dept. had a Doctors appt and want me to go with her. Priorities. I'll catch the next Demo probably next month.

Sorry - should have specified with SmacWraps. I haven't priced them locally, but they configured to $1,650 on Srixon's website.

No problem, $1650 does seem high for graphite.

I think you could probably build cheaper than that.

Huh?

Mizuno 919 forged 4-gw is $1,299

TaylorMade p790 4-gw is $1,299

Srixon 585 4-gw is $1,143

My bad for not being clear ... I meant with SmacWraps. The P790 is $1,500, and I assume it's a no-charge option on The JPX. The Z585's jump to $1,650. The Cobra's are $1,370.

I just put together a set on the Srixon website. They’re offering straight 585 sets, then mixed sets of 585/785, and even u85/585 sets. So, I looked at the specs of the last one, with the u85 at the top (4-6), and when you get to 6/7 irons, the transition from u85 to 585, the loft difference is 2*! Wow. That isn’t much difference! I assume the distance the ball goes between the two is still a “normal” gap....? If anyone has answers, let me know.
