ddryan
Great Stage 1s so far guys! I'll be interested in seeing how distance control is, along with forgiveness - do these wedges give you confidence to take full swings with them? Great question- as far as confidence, oh YES- a big, mighty YES... Distance- I spent last Friday with Trakman, awaiting my club pro to send over the results, but consistent and the exact distances I expected and am very happy with.... more when I finish Stage 2~~!! I'll be interested in seeing how distance control is, along with forgiveness - do these wedges give you confidence to take full swings with them? The one thing I'm the most curious about these wedges is how good are they at getting through the rough. That was the reason I chose the Ping Glide 2.0 wedges. Good question- our rough, well, normally by this time they have done a crosscut and it is thinned out and relatively playable- however... we have had some significant rain over the past few weeks- and not much time to dry out- in fact, a town nearby was totally flooded out (Ellicott City, MD) so our rough has been growing and growing. I really like the way the wedges cut thru the rough but dont get bogged down. I like the feel and responsiveness they offer, and I know when I hit it well it is going to land where i want... tommc23
Nice start on all the reviews. My question is related to the sole of the clubs. Since these wedges only come in 1 bounce configuration, how does the V Sole work for shots around the green (open face, bunkers, short pitches, and chips)? Also, do you consider a digger or slider? Hope you all planning on trying these wedges on bare hardpan lies I hit off of my slate sidewalks today thinking of this and I picked it pretty darn clean I would do that in a round for sure. GeekingGolf
These wedges work well from all conditions I must say first round was marginal but the more you hit them the better you get with them. I am getting the distance control down now and very easy to flight down. I mean I shot my best round of the year today and it had a lot to do with the wedges. I placed multiple 50-80 yard shots within 5 feet which equated to an 80 on the card. First 9 was money shot a 36 deadly from wedge yardage and pitching ended up easy putts. Back to back birdies . I feel like I can hit any shot with these wedges. GeekingGolf
I won't give too many specifics because I want to save that for my Stage 2 but my wedges are getting dialed in and I love the feel and the drop and stop. ddryan
So a few tidbits from my Shotscope analysis using the past 5 rounds (with my Equalizer wedges) versus last year and my TK wedges. Past few rounds have all been in the low 80's (at or below my index) so that is a good thing. Much of those scores can resolve to my putting - This graph shows my putting for all of 2018. This graph shows my putting for the last 5 rounds. Note the significant increase in 1-putts (two putts staying stable) and signficant reduction in three-putts. I chalk this up to the proximity I am obtaining with my Hogan Equalizers! More in my stage two report. In the meantime, for the next three days I will be in our annual Member Guest tournament, and the Equalizers will be in the bag! Wish us luck! @#Hogangolf @#Shotscope What's in the bag?
