If anybody is interested, I found an x-out TopFlite XL in the weeds today while looking for a ball....

 

I would love to know how bad that ball is that they to x it out.

I saw this video today and it reminded me of last years' Hard Rock Challenge... these should be issued to all players BTW...

What a POS! I don't recall what he paid for them, but whatever it was he was truly ripped off if he paid more than $3 for the sleeve...

So @PlaidJacket & @JohnSmalls...Whadaya think? Ready to do this again?

I saw that too and those things should be ashamed to be called Nitros!   Absolutely. Hard Rock Challenge WILL be returning this June. So prepare your arsenal. Go down to the river and find your best rock, get your handicap ready!  Most of all keep a lookout for me. I will be making announcements as we get closer to June

Well then…count me in! I just so happen to have a few candidates available... Most will find their fate being sliced off to oblivion, shattered on the tee or simply chucked by hand into the woods...What could possibly go wrong..?

Er...notice the proliferation of "Top Flite's"...NOT an accident!!! Based on last year's trials, I actually am looking forward to hitting the MOJO...not bad for a brick to be fair, but I am a bit reluctant about the Volvik Crystal in the middle...Somehow I vision myself looking like this after striking it...

Oh, and this season, I shall be equipped with better gear since I am umpiring for my daughter's softball league and have gotten new protective gear! I have a new set of under-shirt chest armor and new shin protectors to show off...the mask though (the same one I wore throughout Babe Ruth, High school & Sr. babe Ruth ball) will be the same...

For a reminder, here is last year's submission taken from the 10th tee which was our #1 for the day I took the challenge-It just so happens to be my current MGS profile pic...

@PING Apologist #9 that's impressive and frightening all at the same time. The thought of having to hit that many top fliers will haunt my dreams.   How did a noodle find its way into the mix??

That rock safety photo is still the best on the forum!  And good luck to your daughter in her upcoming softball season!

Yeah, the Noodle is an anomaly for sure, but I became tired of filtering through all my damn Top Rocks so I wound Up hitting the easy button to create the pyramid...

Thanks too for the kind words! I can't wait to have Softball-Mom or Dad crawl up my a** when they don't understand the infield fly rule or whatever...

I missed joining in time to see this contest. I have two dozen TF XL collecting dust, count me  in if this is taking place. Happy to help with any organizing/logistics if needed.

 

I may ask to borrow my uncles Hammer-X to really drive these rocks out there.

Ah, the hard rock challenge.  It was fun (and kind of painful) last year.  Just found a couple of Pinnacles yesterday.  I'll keep them in a very special place waiting for the next challenge.

You're just in time for the second rolling of the rocks. Extra points for footage of you launching them with the Hammer!  We are working to make the second running a little better than last year so stay tuned. But tee off will be in June!

Nothing says winner like playing Pinnacle Golds!  I just played one today in preparation, I swear I can't lose the blasted thing. June 1 will be the tee off for this year's challenge.

I was hoping this would come around again this year. I wasn’t able to take part in the festivities last year but I am patiently waiting to bust out the Mojos this summer!

Yes, I have way more brand spanning new Mojos than I know what to do with.

I've always wanted to like Mojos, especially the late blue and green ones; but I've  consistently found them 10 yards shorter than their more premium counterparts

Imagine having the best ball-striking round of your life and still needing an entire sleeve to finish, because they'd get lopsided and wobble on the greens. That's balata. 

At the club where I worked as a kid, the caddies had a local rule that you could putt with a different ball so you could use the same ball for more than 4 holes. 

A fairway bunker meant a cut ball unless you could pure it.

Same here, especially towers the end when Nike was getting out of the hard goods business. I was really starting to get into golf then and a case (24) were always on sale. Got them as gifts since it was a reasonable option and I was also loosing balls like it was my job.

Could never get the distance and control I wanted out of them once I fine tuned my game a bit.
