I here you, but you all should be aware, the most recent testing Precision Pro NX7 was open to International, and there wasn't one International entry that met the basic requirements. So while we will continue to keep them in mind when the OEM opens it to International, the chances of it being all international are pretty slim. Just my current .02, not an official declaration.

I would have applied but I was already blessed with the Shot Scope V2 test. Don't forget that there are three international tester for that one.

100% right on but all that is seen or expected is Free Stuff.

I don't see any need for international only opportunities, mind you,something like the Cobra Connect Challenge in a Ryder/President's Cup type split could be fun to watch.

EXACTLY!.... you should've seen my wife's reaction when I told her I was selected to test the rangefinder.  She said "last year when you were picked to test that driver (cobra) it cost you more to test it than if you would have just bought it yourself!".... I had to let her know that thousands (60k!) of people were counting on ME to give them some quality feedback...and that I'd be at the course if you need me.

Try it you might be surprised.  My fiance is HUGE on people meeting their obligations, so everytime I'm chosen to test something, she's checking up on me to make sure i'm doing enough testing for it and meeting the stage deadline...ha

I'm guessing Steve in Florida is probably going to be complaining about not ever winning these darn testing opportunities pretty soon.....

Hi 

As an international 'independent' forum I think you should not be allowing the manufacturers any say in the testing process...otherwise this potentially taints the results, IMHO. While the golfing companies may try to skew the results for their own marketing bias, you could point out that, at least for most of the medium to large manufacturers, they are selling clubs globally, not just the USA.

Golf is an international sport played around the world and continually for the 12 months of the year. I would challenge you on the number of 'international' tests vs USA (or mainland America) tests.

While I appreciate the enormity of the numbers regarding testers vs equipment available the up front rule is the issue...not the fact that for example only 4 clubs are available for 1000 requests...I don't expect to get picked, but I would at least like to have the oppurtunity.

If shipping is the issue you could offer testing to international testers with a deal where they would pay for all or part of the shipping cost.

As an Australian golfer we play year round in many different conditions and I would have thought getting as many differences into your test data would only improve your results.

Last year the vast majority of testing opportunities were open to all forum members, sure some were restricted to certain locations, but without going through all the application threads, I think international forum members were probably disproportionately represented in the reviews. 

The vast majority of regular participants in the forum are from the USA, but there was a significant number of review opportunities available to, and given to non USA  members, I should know, I was selected to review the Ping G700 irons. 

Sure, there were a few things I would have loved to have applied for, but as long as it's clear who can apply (which it is now) it doesn't bother me. 

I started a thread asking about the possibility of international members paying for shipping, and Barbajo posted a thorough and clear explanation of why that wouldn't necessarily work, as licensing and exclusivity come in to play for some of the company's who submit equipment for review.
