Who has work the new Trues? I am currently wearing the Ecco Cage Pro BOA. I love the BOA but the shoe leaves my feet sore after 18. I am thinking about trying the new True's, but the last few pair I have worn fell apart. I am wondering if they actually have gotten Their s*** together and actually made significant changes to their business.

I had bought the new True Outsiders. They seemed to be very well made but the inner boot is so tight it was nearly impossible to put on. I actually bought a shoe horn just for those shoes.

Once on, the tightness of the boot was pretty uncomfortable across the tops of my feet. Now this might have been because I have pretty high arches, but they didn't work for me.

I have a pair or the originals and actually cannot go back to my adidas or footjoy casuals, they are awesome for me. Walked 18 yesterday and it was a super loooooong round due to the very slow group in front (5 hours!!) my feet felt great. They are a little wide but fit true size 12 for me.

I think they have a 30 day return policy if you don't like them. I'll be selling off my other shoes and prolly get a pair of the outsiders

I'm really curious as to the fit and quality of their new line of the knit gent. Those would be perfect over the summer.

I have been wearing Trues for many years.  I love them, but for the last few years I have seen lower quality in their shoes.  I haven't tried their new Originals or Outsiders because I am still wearing my last two pair, but they are about ready for replacement.  I was hoping that Trues would start going on sale, but I might have to get a pair anyway.

Not normally. The way the Trues are made is like a knit inner boot with the leather outer portion. The knit inner is one size, meaning, even if you loosen the laces as much as possible it only makes the outer leather part looser. The knit inner boot can't be made looser and maybe it would benefit from being made with more elastic material so it would stretch and be easier to get on an off.

They are made well though, the design just didn't work for me.

I've been wearing True's since their very first shoe.  As others have mentioned their last iteration of shoes had serious build quality issues - my last pair (True Hybrid Elements) only lasted a couple of months before they developed holes were the shoe bends.  I switched to an Ecco shoe last year, but could never get comfortable with them - the right shoe wore a blister in my heel almost every time I wore the shoes.  So when True announced their new shoes this year I decided to give them one more chance.  I ordered a pair of True Originals.

I couldn't be more pleased with the shoes.  After I wore them for a few weeks I ordered a second pair.  Like deejaid mentions the inner boot is a little tight, which makes the shoe hard to get on.  I can get them on without a shoe horn, but I usually use one anyway to make it easier.  Once the shoe is on my foot I don't find it to be tight at all (and tight shoes drive me nuts since I have a nerve problem in my feet).  I play golf 4+ days per week and these are my only two pairs of golf shoes.  So far they are holding up great - I have had zero issues with build quality.  I also think these shoes are by far the most stylish shoes True has ever made - because of the wide toe box I don't think they will ever be the most stylish golf shoe out there, but these are much more stylish than previous versions.

  • 3 weeks later...

I picked up a pair of the Knit Gents and they are phenomenal. They do tend to rub your Achilles tendon area pretty good but I found a pair of Saucony running socks that sit a little higher than no-show socks to alleviate the issue. These shoes really breathe well and provide excellent traction, even in morning dew conditions. The toe is sturdy so turning through a shot won't hurt your big toe like some light weight shoes tend to do.
