StrokerAce
I need a swing trigger... I just kind of start my back swing when my grip feels good and I have good balance. What trigger do you use to start your swing? Is it the same for all your clubs? RickyBobby_PR
I have to remember to use one but when I do it's a feeling of weight moving from front heel to back heel. Eseay32
My trigger is moving my hands forward with a forward press. It's the last thing I do. 3 waggles, set my balance, and hands go forward. At that point I'm ready to go. I use a different “amount†of forward press on different clubs but that movement is always the move Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
Knoxville, TN 8 Hdcp PXG 0811 10.59deg loft Ping G25 3 wood Titleist 2i rescue Ping I irons +1 upright Vokey Sm5 52, 56, OdysseyRed 2Ball Fang with 1.0 super stroke

palvord
For me, it is a timing thing. I have a rhythm that I am always trying to execute, so when I feel that I have the beat in my head, that's when I begin the back swing. It's almost like I hear the count off from a drummer before starting a rock song, and then everything starts. alfriday101
I move my weight subtly to the heel of my left foot and the ball of my right foot, which causes my hands to do a 2 inch forward press. I try to have very passive arms in my swing and starting the swing from the ground up helps me to keep them out of the swing. I once heard that one should start the swing like you were taking the first step in a waltz. The visual works for me and makes sure my attention is directed to the target and not to any internal thoughts.

Shankster
You know that song... Click, click, boom Slow back, then Hammer time. No trigger really. I just stand there with a blank stare on my face like DJ about backstopping. Then eventually I pull the trigger.
RoverRick
My foursome yelling "Swing the club!" Not really, I am a very fast player, too fast at time. My fivesome played 18 holes in 3 hours and 20 minutes on Sunday, and the only reason we didn't have to wait on the threesome ahead of us towards the end was a cart broke down and we towed it to a guys house. Still finished 15 minutes ahead of the foursome behind us. Since I start the swing with a backwards wrist break, I do that a couple of times like a Dufner waggle. When it feels perfect I continue on. (And mess up later in my swing but that's a different thread.) pulledabill
When I feel my balance and alignment are spot on, i let er rip. I say balance because for me im a better ball striker when I have judt a little more weight on the left side as it helps my weight shift. PlaidJacket
I don't use or have any conscious trigger. To me that's just another thing to think about and unnecessary IMO. My trigger if you want to call it that is my pre shot routine. If anyone is wanting advice... keep it simple and stop over-thinking this damn game. Just play. danielS
Hello all: I count numers. One.... Two.. Three! At addressing, I cound one for a while until I am really ready to take a back swing. With number two I start backswing and reach at the top of back swing. So, number two still consumes a bit of time. Now, then, with number three I execute downswing and hit the ball all the way to finish. Thanks. Be Simple and Consistent. Keep Basics. Be more forgiving. Be in Total Control. GB13
I have a consistent pre shot routine of two practice swings next to the ball, step behind the ball a pick a target, then setup get comfortable and then start the swing as soon as I am comfortable. I find the longer I stand over it thinking about a trigger the more I overthink the shot and when I overthink bad bad things happen. Nmrfgomes
I think the question was more about a physical trigger to start the swing. Mine is holding mi shoulders steady and straight right before backswing starts, once i´m up there i start mi swing with a flick of the shoulders.
