Shankster
11 and 12 will haunt the Big Cat for the rest of his career. Was right there, but those two missed fairways... took the wind out of the sails. I am glad to see Italy get their first Major, and by a class act golfer. Hell of a Sunday. We need more majors. fixyurdivot
That said, I predict Tiger catches fires and takes the jug on the second hole of a three man playoff. Dang, I nearly predicted a finish I did not want to see. I had some activities this morning that precluded me from watching the conclusion of today's round. Tiger was leading when I left. What a strong final run by the Euro's! Poulter must have stayed the weekend and given them a harsh pep talk this morning . STUDque
While I'm happy to see Molinari win, I was rooting for a little more drama down the stretch. The tournament just felt like it ended early....must be the time change. ____________________________________________________ Quick #SpyStaffSlam Update: If you didn't have Molinari, you have no shot. Even an otherwise perfect entry falls well short. Since this was such a mixed leaderboard with so many ties near the top, there's a lot of combinations that can do well. If that was Tiger or Jordan or Rory the accolades would never stop and the media would by talking about it for years to come. Molinari won that tournament on his own merits by being better than everyone else in the field on the weekend. He didn't get hyped by the media because his only backstory is he's Italian. Golfspy_CG2
So everyone complained about the US open at Chambers Bay and that it wasn't visually pleasing....but the accolades for Carnoustie with browned out patches on the fairway and crop circles on the green come rolling in....why? Because it's "links golf"? That's b.s. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk Most of the complaints about Chsmbers Bay were about the greens and the inconsistencies of them due to their condition. Carnousties greens were immaculate and rolled as true as any I've seen this year. They were a tad slow, but the players didn't complain as they were consistent. Even Tiger who traditionally putts horribly on slow greens had near perfect speed all week. Golfspy_CG2
I may be in the minority. But I was extremely let down by the outcome. I was sold excited when Tiger, Rory and Spieth we're all at the top and looked like it could be any of them. Nothing against Molanari he did what others couldn't do, avoid costly bogeys and double bogeys. But my gosh he's about as exciting as watching a turtle cross the road. And he just happens to be on a very well timed streak of playing well. But at age 35 or whatever he is, does anyone see sustained success for him. He's been a very decent player for many years and thst's probably what he'll return to very soon. There were so many other great stories in those first 7 or 8 names. I would have preferred any of them. Oh we well. Hope the PGA brings something exciting.
