djahubes
Went to get my new PXGs tuned up by their master fitter here in Hawaii. First, was blown away by their mobile setup, but more importantly by the shafts he put me into. I thought I had my specs down pretty good but he had me in a completely different setup. Wound up swapping the c taper lite stiff for Dynamic Gold Tour Spec x100 130 gram with the MC 4 grips. Unreal how much better this configuration was. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy I'm curious and perhaps I missed the back story. Were you not originally fit for these sticks? Or, did you perhaps buy them OTR so to speak or second hand? What I'm wondering is; if you were fit for them when you first bought them how did it go wrong causing you to get re-fit with new shafts, etc? Thanks. djahubes
I used the online fitting tool and based on prior experience thought I knew what my specs were. No way did I ever expect that the heavy xstiffs would be best. It really was amazing how easy it was to strike the ball consistently with the heavy shafts. Forced me to stay down and through. Hopefully translates to the course. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
cnosil
I have observed that "dynamic fitting" is often subject to the bias of the fitter. It's not uncommon for people to "get fit" each year , or whenever they are shopping for new club (s) etc... and often times the recommended club specs are very different from the previous time they were "fit". I also believe that if one player went to three different fitters it is likely he/she will receive three different club spec recommendations. Probably true. Go to a fitter aligned with a specific manufacturer you get what they have available in the cart. Go with a brand agnostic fitter, they will most likely have some biases. Picking out clubs for yourself will provide the same differences, some like the older more traditional clubs while others believe that newer larger clubs provide better results. We could also apply this to lessons and what different instructors would have a player work on. Whether it is done by eye or by electronic assistance a fitter will have different ways to get to their desired goal. just as static fitting will give you some measurements but take nothing about the clubs design into consideration so they are all theoretically the same.
