John Feinstein penned a really nice piece on David Feherty.

I have always viewed Feherty as a fascinating character and natural storyteller. And in my opinion, Feinstein eloquently conveyed the understated appeal of this particular Irishman's nuance in a poignant article for GolfWorld.

I thought one of the most interesting sections was Feherty talking about having good chances to win The Open on a couple different occasions. Standing over “very makeable putts” down the stretch he conveyed a scenario in which he doesn't claim to have missed them intentionally but at the time felt like he wasn't good enough to shoulder the responsibility that comes with winning that Championship. Pretty heavy...

It's kind of crazy! I've always liked both of them, can't imagine what Williams went through can't imagine how David gets on with such struggles. Makes me extremely thankful.

Wow. Never even thought to make the connection but this is spot on. Very eccentric personalities and an eerily similar desire to please their audience. I personally don't care much for David or his style but I appreciate and respect the zeal for his trade.
