Alf. S
What are your golf targets for the season? Mine are: 1. Try and win a club competition 2. Qualify for the finals of Golf in Scotland http://www.golfinscotlandseriesevents.co.uk/ 3. Get my handicap moving in the right direction 4. Life time goal is to get to cat 1 (nearest I've got is 6.9) Status so far 1 from 4 1. Came 2nd in Division 1 of May medal 2. Only competed in 1 of 4 events with 30 stableford points 3. Started 8.3 down to 7.9 4. See 3 above. I'm now 57 so get there I think I need more time on the course before it is too late! Retire? PlaidJacket
As of late I've had visions of breaking par. Probably unlike many players I quit setting golf goals other than vague suggestions to myself such as playing better, improved ball striking, more birdies - things like that. I quit chasing specific goals and guess what? My overall game has improved. I'm now 63 and playing the best golf of my life. What's up with that? My current problem has been me. I've been coming close to breaking par by 2 or 3 shots as of late. Here's why I don't - I think. I'm getting tired about 1/2 through the backside. That's really all I can figure. I'm eating and drinking (water only) all thought out my rounds. And honestly, I'm not thinking about breaking par. I don't know. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and it might happen. Or not. Actually I do want to win the City Sr. Championship later this summer but I'm not dwelling on it. (2nd place last year) My Sun Mountain bag currently includes: 771CSI 5i - PW and PFC Micro Tour-c 52°, 56°, 60 wedges EXS 10.5*, 929-HS FW4 16.5* Willimette w/GolfPride Contour
Kenny B
At 71 my comp days are over before they got started. I don't have any targets other than playing tomorrow. I am making a swing change, and it seems promising but I struggle some days. I don't expect it to be great over night, so I guess my target this year is to get my game back to where it was last year. Hopefully, the change will produce lower scores next year. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

GolfSpy_BNG
I only had 2 real golf goals to start the year. 1. Break 80 for the first time. CHECK!! 79 a couple weeks ago with 3 doubles 2. Bring my putts per round average down to 30 and under. Currently at 33 average trending down. After finally achieving #1 after 5 years of legitimately chasing it, I have replaced it with breaking a round into front 9/back 9 and shooting par on 1 side. This is something I have been close to on many occasions over the years but never have bested 37 yet. Mr. 82
I'd like to break 70 sometime before I die. I broke par for the first time a couple of years ago, so I checked that off the list.
