GolfSpy MPR
That other golf site (the one where everyone carries their 7 iron 225) has a couple of threads in which they poke fun at their own stereotypes. I thought a similar thread here would be a lot of fun. What are some signs of a MyGolfSpy golfer? Let's skip the most obvious ones, like, "He's carrying one of those gorgeous MGS/Vessel golf bags." So I'm pretty sure he's carrying a mixed bag (unless he just was chosen to review a whole bag of Cobras). His driver, right now, is probably some variant of the G400. His irons are Mizunos. And his putter is either an Evnroll or an MLA. He probably knows his launch monitor numbers, but he's not going to start a conversation with them. What else? If you got paired with a Spy, what would be the clues that would let you know? PlaidJacket
I actually played with 4 other forum guys in 2017. We had a good time and each one was a perfect gentleman. Everyone's equipment was good stuff for sure but nothing especially unique I recall. One guy, Texas2Cap I believe; had a interesting putter but I can't recall the name of it. Other than that you'd never know anyone was a forum member. In fact I don't recall MGS ever coming up in the conversation. We just played golf and had fun. Oh wait... I do remember one guy had his mgs bag tag. I use mine as a coaster here at the office. STUDque
Great topic. Here's 2 just off the top of my head: 1) They've got tags on their clubs (Arccos/Shot Scope/Game Golf/etc). Not only are they part of the small segment that is even aware of the existence, they're the ones who get off on data collection. 2) Instead of asking "how do you like that new driver?" they ask "how do you like that XYZ shaft?" and call it out by name based on the graphics.
