Mizuno - JPX 919 and T (series) Wedges ?

Recommended Posts

I only just noticed when I was hitting them yesterday that the 919 irons have the lofts written under the numbers...

Maybe it was just a fitting cart thing because the actual irons do not have any lofts on them

Ahhh that would explain it, I saw a picture on Instagram as well that showed the same thing so I thought it might be a new thing 😳😎

I heard someone talking about that today. That sounds like an iron that would be right up my alley.

But I'm firmly committed to the Bridgestones!

I love the launchers I love the launchers I love the launchers.

I really have a soft spot for Mizunos but I really don’t need constant reminders of what is coming.

Interesting...

It will be interesting to see how they compare. Will Mizuno see any appreciable increase in sales because of this? They have a wide lineup already.

Git the rundown on this from our rep this week. Based on the name, I fully expected it to spot between the HM and the Forged.

I was very surprised to hear it's actually a bridge between the Forged and Tour. It's been very well recieved by the tour pros who have tried it. They expect it to be widely used on tour.

No surprised here.  Had a feeling they were going after the new "players distance" category with these.  They'll compete with the P790, i500, etc.

Yeah, that's what I asked when he said that.  But he said, the difference is you see those  iron usually only in the top end of a tour bag, maybe 3 or 4 iron.   But the feedback they've gotten is these will be in play throughout the bag for most guys of the tour guys.

After seeing the new Hot Metal and the improved Forged, I have to remind myself more than ever that I said I like the Bridgestones!! 😁

Looks great, but isn't there a huge loft gap between the 919F 6i and the 919T 7i, 28* to 34*? I couldn't even find loft for the 919T 3i.

Thanks for sharing the set you made. The clubs look gorgeous.

My wallet starts to panic a bit every time I start talking about the 919s.

Correct, I have custom lofts and lies set on mines.

Next steps to my road to improvement
      Current
Adding the Mizuno MMC FliHi 4 iron to the bag once it comes it to replace my hybrid. The hybrid has too significant of a draw bias, not terrible, but I also draw the ball naturally already, and will probably go in and out of the bag, but I'm looking for better shot shaping with the FliHi and have that 210 to 225 distance into the green and off of the tee. Working on my putting. I'm rolling the ball nicely now with a slightly open stance with my current putter. I have another putter that I can get the ball rolling online, but the pace is off. Future step is to actually get fit for a putter. Working on my natural tempo and swing speed for the driver to have more consistent drives. See below for more info. Next
Driver shaft optimization. Not looking for a new head yet. I like my 2017 M1 460. Interested in the journey of testing some shafts. Right now my shaft is determining what kind of shot I can do. Slower speed and tempo than my natural speed and tempo. This has lead to a great deal of inconsistency of trying to find the "magic speed and tempo" and I know that isn't the way to go. Swing speed training. I'll have multiple shafts at this point so I can game whatever is best fitting me as I go along. And I can always swing a little slower or club down to hit a fairway. Future
Get fitted for a putter > get fitted for a driver/shaft and woods from a high level, reputable company willing to discuss numbers and takes the time and right approach. Open to custom shafts and not just from the OEM cart like at a Golf Galaxy. I have only been fitted to a driver once, but didn't purchase as I did not like the experience, small selection of shafts, and I wasn't swinging my natural speed and tempo like I should have.
