Rattle in the shaft of 1964 Wilson Staff irons

Recommended Posts

I have a rattle  ( something loose ) in the shafts of two irons of my 1964 Wilson Staff irons. I took the grips off, but could not get anything to fall out. I thought I read that Wilson use to put wooden dowels in some of their shafts, and if so I'm wondering if these could have come loose.

Anyone have any idea what might be causing this rattle? I'm trying to avoid taking the head off if possible.

Thanks,

Bruce
