StrokerAce
In the spirit of the @PlaidJacket recent golf ball challenge I was thinking of another one that might be fun. What is the lowest score you can post on a regulation course with the fewest clubs possible? A number of ways to do this and I'm curious how it plays out and what clubs you end up using/not using.... Of course you can bring your full bag if you want but keep track of the clubs you didn't use and see how well you do. If, for example, you're between a 7 and 8 try taking a little off the 7/choking down instead of hitting the 8.....maybe keep the 60 degree in the bag....use 3w only....even or odd irons only... This should make you really think about your shot, how you want to hit it, where you want the ball to land and how you want it to react after. It's just for fun.... 1 Quote I got something to say then I'm gonna say it.
STUDque
I like this idea. You could treat each club not used as an extra stroke on your handicap too. Just need to force everyone to play the tees they'd normally play to keep it honest. Example: Player shoots 85 with a 10HC: 75 net Using 4 clubs: 65 score 3 Quote In my Pisa, riding on a 3.5+ G410+ EXS 5W King F7 Hy i500 5-GW Equalizer 56/60 Heppler Ketsch
Mr. 82
One year when I was unemployed and played every day I got bored and didn't feel like carrying my bag for 18 holes, so I took 3 clubs and a pocket ful of balls and tees. I had a hybrid, 6 iron and pitching wedge for the whole 18 holes. I don't remember exact scores, but I was usually shooting in the mid 80's with that setup. And if you are curious, I just putted with the hybrid. It's not too awfully hard to adjust, and frankly, I may have putted better with that club, considering all the 3 putts I seem to be having lately. Shankster
Sounds fun. I'll be down for it after my tournament. 1 club: an iron, I'll let you guys pick. But it has to be 5-8.

Shankster
OK, Tin Cup, "I never miss the 7 iron." Sent from my coral using MyGolfSpy mobile app I'll bring a baseball ball, a rake and a shovel to round out my bag. You guys can now call me Roy. One hole will be a b.... though. I don't think my 7 can carry the nasty stuff. Guess I'll DeLoft and go 111% might make it.
Shankster
Does it all have to be from the same tee's?
StrokerAce
Does it all have to be from the same tee's? You can do it however you want but the idea is that it is a regulation round of golf. 1 Quote I got something to say then I'm gonna say it. Peanut05
This reminds me of a tournament I played where we could only take 4 clubs. I was paired with two older guys that were playing the senior tees. It was only a 6 hole tournament and I think I was somewhere around 8-9 over on those 6 holes. The older guys, however, were even and -1. It was like they played with those 4 clubs every day. They couldn't miss. They got 1st and 2nd place easily. 1 Quote In my bag: Callaway Epic Subzero with Aldila Rogue Max 75 Stiff shaft Callaway Rogue Subzero with Project X Evenflow 6.0 75g stiff shaft Callaway Rogue 3 Hybrid with Aldila Synergy 60 HYB stiff shaft Callaway Apex irons (4-PW) with True Temper XP 95 stiff shafts Callaway MD3 wedges (50/54/58) SeeMore Original FGP Bridgestone Tour B RX
