Man, these clubs are stupidly long and felt pretty good to me. Strongly considering a 3i with a graphite shaft to act as my driving iron. As a side note, I called Ping. But no stores and none of their demo days actually carry the retro loft. And the Retro loft itself comes as the standard loft and they bend it weak at the factory after it arrives, the power spec is bent strong in the same way. So while normally you can bend a club ~ +/- 2°, with the Retro you shouldn't bend it any weaker, and you shouldn't bend the power spec any stronger(who would do that?!!?). All that said, I can't try this before I buy it. So just going out on a limb and comparing the lofts and club lengths to give it a try. TeeKO915 Posted July 29, 2018 Share Posted July 29, 2018 Is anyone else experiencing "Golfers Elbow" or Medial Epicondylitis after hitting the i500 irons or i500 fitting irons for an extended period of time? I am a golf professional and I am not opposed to the idea that I may have to correct my swing before I heal. I am more inclined to think that after hitting roughly 40 shots with the new i500 Iron I developed symptoms within roughly 2 hours. It has been about 4 days and I can just about extend my arm fully now. I have never experienced "Golfers Elbow" before, so it seems a little odd that I would develop this out of the blue. I think ping has hit an absolute home run abs these are going to sell crazy. The i500 is the best looking “game improvement†I have ever seen. They are beautiful. Look like a blade from the top and are easy to hit. 210s weren't quite as good looking to me, but man they are sweet. I'm kicking myself for pulling the trigger on the PXGs. The i500s must be mine!!! That said, I was launching the i500 with a AWT 2.0 X stiff, with a 51 degree decent angle at about 5600 rpm average. Carrying 170 (8 yards farther than the PXG). I realize they didn't start shipping until 08/01 but was hoping my fiters estimate of 10 days might be accurate. In any case I am going to be gaming these soon after 2 years with a Callaway Apex CF-16/Pro combo set. I had the Pings fitted where the Callaways were a my best guess internet buy. Hitting the Pings fitted (I'm 6'5") to me was a very good experience, The feel of the i210's is as good as most reviews describe. Can't wait to play them... Freakin' awesome. Seeing the variety of LH clubs to try is rare. Anyway I looked over the Ping I500 and they are a beautiful looking iron, kinda G700 smaller brother on steroids. Looking forward to hitting EVERYTHING when I get some time real soon!! I talked to one of the fitters and gave me the $.05 Tour. Got his card and going to go for an hour (maybe Tuesday) and hit some irons. Shop is brand new with all the bells and whistles. I can't stand the sound of them.
