I was actually just talking to my buddy that went to the driving range with me the first time... he has never been golfing and didn't know how to even swing the club. We were setting up another day to go pitch and putt and he told me to try and find someone more my skill level. I tell him that he is ridiculous and it's not about how good we are... I'm just there to have fun and I enjoy trying to help him as much as I can. I know I'll never be as good as the pro's or most of the guys out there but it's fun to play and maybe one day, hell, I might actually get good haha.

Now I'm trying to get my son into the game also... my wife is gonna regret the day she made me go haha

Improve as much or as little as you like, but the key is to have fun. Sometimes that point is lost. Also playing with people better than you will elevate your game as well. Never feel intimidated by playing with a lower HC than you. They had to start out somewhere too.

I understand exactly what you mean... I had a horrible day at the range yesterday but didn't let me down. I just chalked it off as an off day. I remember the first day at the range, there was a older gentleman that made 250+ yard driver shots look almost effortless... Those people motivate me and I'd love to play and learn from them.
