Well my irons are new this year along with my 50* and driver. My hybrid is actually the only club in my bag that I used in college 4 years ago! I have played 2 different drivers, 1 3-wood, 2 sets of irons, 2 sets of wedges and 2 different putters from the bag I played when I graduated! 

 

But I also got everything with shop credit from tournament winnings or with a college discount program except the Evnroll

Driver and 3 wood are about 2 years old.

5 wood is 12 months or less.

Hybrids and irons are at least 3 to 4 years old.

SCORs are at least 2 to 3 years old.

Smartsole is the newest club from, I believe, just before Chrissie.

Putter I bought new in 2007.

RAZR fit driver and 3w -> 380 new from golf town

Cobra Utility 2-3iron -> 100 used on kijiji (only hit twice and traded a like new putter as well)

716 AP2 irons -> 1100 (end of season sale at my course plus the pro took off a bit more)

SM6 56* -> 160 new

SM4 60* -> Free. Long drive at a charity scramble. Nearly drove the green, but ended up 6 feet away on the apron.

SM C-130 bag -> 180 new

Tour trek one touch push cart -> 140 new

"Alignment aids" -> 20 new

3 gloves at 15 per = 45

 

And the grand total is..... *puts on green eyeshade, pulls out printing calculator*.... 2105. Not bad considering that's in Canadian funds

Everything is new this year except the C-Taper Lite shafts.

 

I was looking at new wedges and had always wanted to try the Hogan TK15's, when I saw they were bing discontinued I bought a few from Hogan and a like new pair from eBay. Liked them so much I ordered the demo Ft. Worth irons to try. Loved them and figured they were going to be discontinued too since the wedges were. Almost ordered direct from Hogan but since they didn't have a shaft I liked I scored a near mint set from Dallas Golf and threw my C-taper Lites in them.

 

Driver, just wanted to try some of the new tech, also wanted to loft up a bit. 5 -wood was added to replace the 3-wood I haven't been really using.

 

I had some nightmare putting rounds recently and am super stoked on the Founders Club putter I found. Awesome feel.

 

 

Now, let's check back in a year and see if my bag is all the same.

This is an interesting discussion. Price isn't everything, but I've found investing in quality gear (specifically well FIT gear is massively important. Props to Modern Golf)

 

Driver: Titleist 917 D3 w/HZRDOUS Yellow 6.0 $800 (including the weight kit)

 

Woods: Callaway XR16 3 & 5 Wood, both with HZRDOUS Red 6.0 shafts $500 each

 

4 Iron: Srixon U65 with Fujikura MCI Iron Shaft $300

 

5-PW: Callaway Apex CF16 with Fujikura MCI Iron shafts $1,800

 

Wedges: Cleveland RTX-3 Wedges with Limited Edition Nippon Modus shafts $600

Wedges: Mizuno MP T5 - $58 ... Got a set of 3 on eBay for $105, sold the gap wedge for $47 for a net of $58

Price is definitely a factor for me, but I still feel like I was able to get what I wanted. Obviously, the main thing I sacrificed was getting custom fit, but I've never hit irons or driver better so I've got no complaints.

In a manner of speaking my golf equipment does cost me the price of gold and some rare stones.   As I have mentioned before, my wife likes to get me my golf stuff because she knows that she can't go wrong with that.  Moreover, she goes to the local golf shop owned by friends so they watch out for me.   In return, I will continue to get her items that include gold and rare stones that will fit on her ears or fingers or around her neck or wrist.   Because, similarly, I know that it is unlikely that I will go wrong.

I ran the cost of my new bag as I was waiting for the clubs to arrive from Cobra. The entire set, Cobra F8 Driver to Lob Wedge plus bag was over $2,600. A great big shoutout to all......Thank you Cobra!

I'm honestly a little afraid to check mine, I know it's gonna be fairly high... I don't overhaul gear hardly ever so if I get new stuff it's usually few and far between. But I'll save up and drop a decent bit if I like what I'm looking at, don't leave me in a golf shop alone ...
