Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy There's a slight downgrade in that approach, but that was all carry distance, as it hit on the green and stopped after a bounce. These irons have created gapping issues for me, which I'll cover in my stage 2. To be sure, it's not problems between the irons, but with the hybrids above and wedges below them. I'm interested too because the G700 while similar has a different look than my G30. I would love to see your spin numbers on a 7 iron, if possible. @GB13 - because of the similarities I can comment on the rough with the G30 and I think it applies. I agree that the thicker sole makes hitting these clubs more like hitting a hybrid. Our rough is thick and gnarly right now. The only why a hybrid comes out is to play it back in the stance and get steeper - sort of a modified punch. I've been using that approach with my irons also and the results have been useful - comes out lower with less spin so you don't want to at tucked pins but it works. Popular Post JAGolfore
So another week has gone by and needless to say these irons are starting to grow on me. Last night I shot my best round EVER! I tied our course record (although from the white tees) with a 60 (-12). My previous best was a 61(-9). So now I have 2 course records to my name! I can't believe how these irons fly. I played the par 3's (-3) the par 5's (-4). I hit the long irons so high. This helps me so much into par 5's and even on the par 3's. Yes the putter was on fire. But these irons were as well. Anytime you put together a round like that everything has to be working and it was. I'm not going to lie as I thought rounds like this were behind me. Shot of the day on the par 3 8th hole. G700 PW 148yds. I have our couples club championship Sunday and the US Mid Amateur qualifier on Tuesday. I need to keep the positive thoughts flowing.
