Bubba and DJ both E. I hope they are paired together, that would be a fun group to follow (although my daughter has a list she wants to stalk). My wife just wants to see DJ's hamstrings and Brooks' arms.

Rickie and Jordan?

Rickie's on her list, Jordan not so much, but I want to watch him hit a few.

Just weeding out players like ZJ. Sad really.

It doesn't impress anyone and really serves no purpose.

I will say when the longer hitters are hitting a “chip 9 iron into par 5's...” they should just be par 4's.

Just get rid of par 5's all together. Easy way to keep the scores higher.

This is where course design matters. If you place real hazards (the bunkers on a links course for example) or route the hole so you have to actually choose a variety of clubs (doglegs that can't be cut) you'll see different skills other than bomb and gouge. Making a hole 3 football fields long doesn't do anything to show any skill variety.

I don't like trees, so we'd have to go the bunker route. I can't stand forced dog legs. At least a forced draw. Most of the courses I play have wide open forced fades, but way too tight of a Shute for forced draw. As a guy who likes to fade the ball it is irritating. I'd probably hate Augusta to play.

That's why I link open concept courses, wide open to move the ball at will. Trees...

I think they should put big hazards on par 5s at 270-370 either bunkers or water hazards. This will limit the play off the tee. You have to layup to 260 then hit over the hazard to the green or lay up over the hazard. This will shorten the distance gap and then you won't need 1/2 mile holes.

What's with the starter walking out to the front of the first tee box to announce the players? Maybe I've never noticed it before, but usually the starter stands to the side of the tee and announces the players.

lol. I can't afford anything JT wears. That belt is probably $100. The shirt was probably $80 - $100. Not sure about the pants, but probably $150. And even if you could find those shoes, you probably can't afford them at probably north of $500. They are metal spikes so I am sure Footjoy custom makes them for him and all the other 300 pair of classic spikes he has in his house at home.

Nobody gets there in 2 unless they get incredibly lucky or hit insanely good/long shots. So it does nothing but make it easy for ZJ, who isn't tempted by it.

Why does par matter? It doesn't matter what the par is. Low score wins regardless of the par.

I agree it isn't the best par 5 though. But it plays nowhere near 700.

I agree Firestone isn't a great course but the pros love it and the list of winners are prestigious. It produces great champs for some reason.

GB13 you realize distance is a skill right? Making everyone lay back still leaves advantages to the longer player but it means that good drivers of the ball have no advantage. Even the medium or shorter length driver. Should we also make everyone hit approach shots to 30 feet?

It's all relative... people say you play against the course-that's a crock...the course doesn't win or lose; you play against everyone else and you need to be at least 1 stroke less than them...par is simply an arbitrary term

I agree the course isn't the most memorable we see all year. A lot of holes seem to look alike.

Pretty much a one horse race so far.

With all these ball commercials Bridgestone is really trying to take advantage of the Tiger effect. They really could use this TV time get their name out in clubs.

Their Ball sales took a dive, with a new guy running the show.

I think they want sales back up before they do anything with clubs.
