Golf club grips for hot/humid weather

Hi, I don't wear a glove when I play and my latest set of clubs have the Golf Pride CP2 grips on them.  I've been playing a lot more late in the day and the heat and humidity have made these grips almost impossible for me to hold on to during my swing.  

 

1.  Is there a grip that would be better suited for these conditions?

2.  Would just buying a glove be the quicker fix?

Buying a glove would be the quick fix.  I don't wear a glove, but started wearing one when it got hot.  It's hot and dry here, so I don't need one, except for the early morning rounds when the sun hits those water-soaked fairways; by noon the humidity is back to normal, about 20%.

 

You might want to look into a full cord grip.  Golf Pride has one, but I'm using the Pure DTX.  Cord grips do feel very different and will put callouses on your hands pretty quick if you don't already have them.  Some people don't like them, but I feel like I can hold them looser than wrap grips which helps my swing.

I used to have this issue with my wedges because I will take my glove off some wedge shots. Switch to the wedge grips from Pendulum golf and haven't had the issue ever since!

Yes they are intend for use in wet conditions and the grip should actually be better with a little moisture on

I always have a pair or two of cotton painters gloves in the bag. Work exactly like rain gloves at a fraction of the cost.

Tomorrow try using some antiperspirant. It works. Has for in the past anyway.

I don't wear a glove and found that Golf Pride Tour Wrap 2G work best. Once installed and every so often they get a warm bath with dawn soap and a sponge.

I like the lamkin rel ace 3gen grips. Do well for me in this Memphis heat and humidity.

Rain gloves also work. And clean your grips good before the round to get them tacky again.

I play in high humidity normally. I play all rubber grips(Golf Pride VDR) They are great in humidity they stay super tacky and don't slide. They are awful in rain though. In rain you need to keep them dry or else. They get a thin coating of water on them and they hydroplane right out of your hands in rain. If you play in rain you need corded grips.

Lamkin UTx grips are great. Like most cord grips, they're a bit firm but they do well in the Houston heat/humidity that goes from April to October. Also, alternating between 4 gloves helps as well. Rain gloves are popular as well but I found them to be a little too thick and I lose the feel of the shot with one/both on. Personal preference.

The UTx Wrap Cords are awesome. I wish I had stocked up as they are now discontinued. They are firm though. Here it's hot but dry, very low humidity.

It sure beats the hell out of changing out a glove every other hole, or putting it on to hit the ball, then taking it off constantly. The rain golf doesn't have the best of feel, compared to the leather glove, but who are we kidding here; I'm lazy as hell, and if I don't have to dick with a glove for the entire round, that's one less thing I have to worry about.

Was gonna say the same thing (and I have CP2 grips) .. in fact, when it's really hot and humid and I'm extra sweaty I'll wear both rain gloves .. have found it really helps!

I like firm grips as a personal preference. If you like a little softer grip with good moisture management, I use the ping i8 grips on my irons. It's not a cord grip but the texture resembles a cord grip. The grip also has a rib reminder which I prefer in my irons but not in my adjustable woods. They have the ping i8 grips for $1.99 at my local PGA SS. Yes, I bought two dozen on the spot.

+1 for Lamkin UTx. South Carolina humidity and no troubles. I also change out gloves several times. I also soak a towel before the round to clean my hands on, with all the sweat going on I need to kind of clean my hand with the wet towel then use a dry towel to dry them. Only on really humid days, so pretty much all summer

I'll +1 the UTx as well. Fantastic grip for humid or wet conditions.

I really love the Winn Dri-Tacs in all weather an have had zero issues in heat or rain.  Superb gripping power.  Unfortunately, they wont last long if you play a lot of golf. 

 

I might have to check out the Utx grips if I get decent reviews on longevity.

I put the acid green ones on my irons that I played for 3 years, and I just bought the red ones that I put on my current irons. They don't show signs of wear and I play 1 or 2 times a week. There are 2 reasons I will never buy another Winn grip 1. They are way too expensive for what they are. 2. They wear out and come apart quicker than any other grip I have ever seen. Replacing a $9 dollar grip 3 times a year isn't cost effective when there are better options available.

 

Also, if you are looking for a grip that will last a long time and have some money to spend on them, the Best Grips Microperf iron grips are legit. If you like really tacky (sticky) grips then I would try one, I personally didn't like the feel of them, but many others do, they are expensive but they will last for several years

I've bought about every grip imaginable due to hot/humid weather and losing grip when swinging.

 

Winn DriTac have been the best (besides best grips microperf). They do wear out faster than other grips but not horribly so. I've now got them on most of my clubs and won't be switching anytime soon

I have the CP2 on all of my clubs. Just changed to these last weekend. I play in the Louisiana heat, and last Sunday it was 96* with a heat index over 100*. I had no issues with these grips, but I keep 4-5 gloves in rotation as I play. As each one gets moist, I hang it on the cart to dry out, and put-on the next one. I played 9 again tonight, walking, and again I had no issues with the CP2.

 

I will say the MCC+4 were very good in the heat and humidity, but I grew tired of the cord in them. Anyway, I do think multiple gloves is an answer....
