Skechers Golf Shoes Poor Quality?

Sorry to revive an old thread, I just wanted to let everyone know that I emailed the email on the card multiple times and never heard back over the last few months.
I ended up calling the number listed today and left them my call back number. They called me back 5 min later and finally got the ball rolling. I have to email them pics of the shoes tonight. We'll see what they say.

Good luck !  I'm hoping things turn out okay.  I have wide feet and skechers is one of the few brands that makes golf shoes that fit me well.  🤞

I recently bought two pairs of the Skechers tennis shoe style golf shoes and absolutely love them.  So far so good on the quality side of things, but with as much as I wear them if I get more than 6 months out of them it'll be a great deal.

I have several pair of their shoes and 2 pair of their golf shoes.  Nothing but top quality and comfort IMO.  Only golf shoes I'll wear right now.

Bad news. After a couple of emails and sending them pictures of the shoes they somehow have determined that this is "normal wear and tear" and they won't be warrantying them. They offered me a discount code as compensation but I don't really see the point in buying a discounted pair of $155 shoes that won't last me 6 months without falling apart.

I conveyed my disappointment to the skechers rep in a reply email and she has not responded. I believe that was a week ago today. TBH I'm pretty pissed about the situation and will likely never purchase another pair of skechers shoes again. The entire experience with them has been negative. The shoes tore up. They avoided emails for three months and then when I did finally make contact with them, they brushed off the warranty claim like it didn't matter.

I'll post some pics of the shoes. They are dirty seeing as my last round in them from the summer came at Mossy Oak which is extremely dusty/muddy if you find yourself in the waste areas which I did often. I will say that the dirt on the shoes makes them look more worn than they are.

The plastic toe on the right shoe cracked within a month. The rest of the shoe and its seams slowly detiorared over the next 5 months until I became too embarrassed to wear them. It's a pity they fell apart, bc they were comfortable.

The shoes above have somewhere between 30-45 rounds on them with maybe 9 holes of those rounds being walking and the rest on a cart. No range time or practice to speak of either.

When I get home I'll post pics of some of my older pairs of shoes to show how they've held up in comparison. My Nike TW 14s probably have 200+ rounds on them including a ton of walking rounds and they look better than the Skechers do.

Not sure if it would have made a difference, but I would have cleaned them up so the only issue would have been the shoes falling apart.

I have been wearing my GoGolf Elite V3 LX for the last couple of months; probably 10 walking rounds and 25 riding rounds.  They still look nearly new except that the toes have faded in color a little after getting wet then drying.  They are a darker gray color.  I need to find a polish in a color match.  Great shoes though.  Very comfortable!

In hindsight I would have cleaned them up as well but the way she worded the email, it was just a formality to make sure there is something wrong with them.
I did let her know that they needed to be cleaned from a previous round and that I could do so if needed. 2 emails later she offers me the discount code instead of warrantying them.

30% I believe. I never heard back from them after expressing my displeasure with the whole process and them ignoring my emails for months before eventually declining to warranty them.

I doubt I'd buy another pair of their shoes even at 50% off if they fail that quickly and the company won't even back their own warranty.

30% off is nothing. You can get that by just shopping around! If it makes you feel just a tiny bit better. My wife bought me a pair of gogolf for Christmas but I wasn't quite happy so the day after we went to GG. After trying them on again and thinking about your post I ended up walking out with a pair of Fj's. After discount and promo's ended up being the same price.

I just looked and it was 35% but yes, that's nothing.

I hope you are very happy with the FJs btw! I've always had decent experiences with their shoes.

Currently I'm making due with my ancient pair of TWs and a pair of addidas that are newer but not my favorites. I'll be buying either a pair of Nike's or FJs soon if I had to guess.

Not sure if you have a GG near you - they are having a great sale on their FJ's since the new models are coming in January. The price was better than most online places. Heck I picked up a pair of Nike shoes for my wife that were more than 50% off. Fortunately there was a pair in her size otherwise she would have been really bummed out.

That's awesome! I wish I had one close by but I do not unfortunately. All I have close by is Dicks, Academy Sports, Nevada Bob's and Edwin Watts.

I do have around $400 credit at a local pro shop that I can use toward shoes and whatever else though. So that will likely be my route.

Skechers warranty department similarly put me through the ringer when the sole started to separate from the upper on my pair of GoGolf Focus Collegiate. I probably had about a dozen walking rounds on them before they started splitting. I tend to take really good care of my stuff so other than the sole separating they looked pristine.

I initially tried the email route but like you received no response. Skechers did however answer the phone on my first attempt. They initially tried to convince me that Skechers shoes are sold with no implied warranty. After mentioning the 2 year waterproof warranty card that Plaid kindly posted, my rep put me on hold.

After a 10 minute hold she placed an arbitrary $59 value on my shoes over the phone. I explained that a $59 credit wouldn’t come close to putting me in another pair of their golf shoes with the same features and demanded an identical replacement; so she put me on hold for another 10 minutes. At that point she rescinded the $59 credit offer and explained the shoes would need to be shipped in for inspection.

A few weeks later I received an email that my shoes were deemed defective and they offered me the same $59 credit. So I got on the phone again for clarification. After some heated back and forth they said okay, we’ll send you a free replacement pair. I just needed to include a primary and secondary color preference with the return packaging. None of my choices included black but that’s what they sent me (I’ve _never_ worn black golf shoes btw).

My conclusion, they are a crap shoe company. Much as I liked the styling and stability on that particular model, I will never buy another pair of Skechers.

Stop by the Dicks, which owns GG. They may be discounting the inventory as well.

I'm going to call and give them a hard time about it next week. It's too easy to say no over email but on the phone they have to be a little nicer and more understanding if they want to have decent customer service.

I agree with you about them being a sub standard company at this point.
