I think the problem with the Rams is that they are really good, and they know it. That could hurt them in the playoffs, get a little to overconfident in 1 game and you go home. They do seem like the team to beat in the NFC. The broncos won with just defense, but that defense was scary good. the Bears aren't that level yet, and there offense makes too many mistakes right now, but later in the year who knows.

Watching a bit of this game of Browns-Jets, and how that was not called pass interference is mind boggling. As a Lions fan I have to wonder if we have been getting robbed for the last 59 years on these calls. The safety ran completely into the Receiver, and there was no call. We get called for just looking at a receiver most of the time.

Think the biggest reason was because both were playing the ball. It was underthrown and both were tracking it and ran into each other. If the defender never turns his head I think they call it.

I understand to some extent why is wasn't called, but I will put my entire years salary on the fact that if it was a Lions defensive player, the flag would have been thrown as soon as he made any contact, whether he was looking at the ball or not.

 

Also, are the Brown going to pull Taylor and put in Mayfield, you cannot tell me that Taylor is better. Taylor looks horrible tonight.

I agree that it's not called correctly the majority of the time...

 

And I don't know how much longer they can go with Taylor. Though his line isn't helping him...

I was thinking the exact same thing. It's like Bledsoe/Brady without a Super Bowl. Now if the Sox can close this out I'll sleep better.

I figured it was going to be a good second half. You could see that the team seemed to pick up a little bit when Baker came in.

There's no way he doesn't play the rest of the year. If mayfield doesn't play the coach will not be there long.

The very second Baker came I to the game, it was completely different.

Dude showed why he was the best pick, with his super quick release and uncanny accuracy.

I was amazed, and Korador has it right.

 

This guy may have a few hiccups here and there, but he has all the makings of a mega star.

Mayfield is a rookie. A talented rookie, but a rookie just the same. The jets game planned for Taylor.... and shut him down for half the game. Mayfield threw a monkey wrench in there. 

 

I'm not taking anything away from the Browns or Mayfield, but it's waaayyy to early to be shouting from the roof tops! They will win some games this year... and Mayfield IS their QB of the future. That O line needs some work before they are playoff caliber.... but things are looking up for them.... and that's great!

Watching the Bills rout the Vikings, why did the Bills ever start Nathan Peterman. It just doesn't make sense why you would start the QB that had 6INT in a game last year.

Matthews got called for the same hit again. I just watched it. As a Lions fan you can bet that I have a strong dislike for anything Green Bay. So saying this goes against everything for me. That call was BS. I struggle to see how a guy is supposed to tackle/Sack a quarterback anymore. He turned his head so he made no contact above th shoulders, he didn't pick him up and slam him down, he tackled him. I think the NFL is going to lose more patrons than they already have if they continue with these lame rules they come up with, I am all in for player safety, but I also want to see football. At this point they should just put Flags on the quarterback and go from there since you aren't allowed to really touch them without a penalty. It is football, it is a contact sport, the person with the ball is going to get hit.

I feel ya, Nifty! After the Superbowl in 2003, if someone were to tell me the Raiders would be one of the worst teams in the league for the next 15+ years, I would have laughed in their face!

 

Things run in cycles. I think there are a few teams that are learning/going to learn that this season.... both ways.

I'm not sure how you can trade a player that isn't signed?........... and.... keep him away from the Raiders!

I thought he was signed, He's just not showing up. If he gets traded, he can only be signed on for the rest of the year..Then he has to renegotiate after the year is over. I think its more likely he sits out the season and enters free agency then it is that he gets traded as a rental and agrees to do what he is avoiding in Pittsburgh, but who knows.
