NFL analysts are really something.

The Bills were forecasted to win 6 games on average. Now that they’re 3-0 it’s a soapbox of “well, they played poor teams.”

They have a long way to go but would it be the worst thing in the world to say wow, these guys are playing a good team concept of disciplined football?!

... Amen! Winning games in the NFL is difficult. Any team is capable of beating any team on any given Sunday. Keeping a winning streak alive is particularly difficult. Should the Bills be considered a Super Bowl contender? Not yet but they certainly deserve the credit for being 3-0 and playing some great football and the future for 2019 looks very bright.

I wholeheartedly agree. They’re not NE good but I wouldn’t blink to say they’re a second tier team with the likes of GB, Baltimore, Minnesota and your Bears.

A win is a win is a win in this league and I’m excited for the season to continue.

Nope. Just a year ago, or two years ago, the Lions started 3-0 and were tied for the NFC lead. Then the Lions woke-up... And started losing, as usual. Lions fans can never get excited as our team and organization has consistently let us down.... Sad.

... PMookie rest assured you are not alone. According to may Bears "fans"  Trubisky is the worst QB to ever play the game, next to Cutler of course. Nagy just got lucky last season and is showing his true colors this year. The defense is great but can't stand up to a really good team when the offense goes either 3 and out or turns the ball over. Pinero will miss an important FG and the Bears won't make the play offs. 12-4 last year and 2-1 this year and some "fans" think the Bears are the Dolphins.

Yea.............. "fans" are awesome...lol I honestly don't think the Bears will do much, even if they make the playoffs... but they are certainly better than my Raiders...lol.

... Wow, what an exciting game. I was thinking of you when the Lions almost scored, fumbled and the Chiefs returned it for a 100yds TD. Told my son this is what Pmookie says it's always like for Lions fans. Fwiw, I though they out played the Chiefs but for Lions fans that was really a tough loss.

May not be a popular opinion but I think Burfict should be suspended for a year....l know it's a violent game but he's been literally trying to kill guys for years.... eventually he's going to paralyze someone.

I could not agree with you more. I think he should be removed from the game permanently. I never wanted the POS on my team, and I was pissed off that they signed him. Incognito will be the next loose cannon getting ejected.... just wait.

Without a doubt, the dirtiest player in the history of the league...one can only hope that the commissioner takes a serious look at it and issues the proper discipline.

May not be a popular opinion but I think Burfict should be suspended for a year....l know it's a violent game but he's been literally trying to kill guys for years.... eventually he's going to paralyze someone.

He should be kicked out of the league. Today was a cheap shot like I have never seen in the 20 years I played.

And I hung up my spikes in 2001 when you could actually still hit someone and I still think it is the dirtiest play I have ever seen.

There needs to be a rule where if a guy gets hurt from what’s deemed to be an intentional hit that player gets s proportional penalty

... Wow, what an exciting game. I was thinking of you when the Lions almost scored, fumbled and the Chiefs returned it for a 100yds TD. Told my son this is what Pmookie says it's always like for Lions fans. Fwiw, I though they out played the Chiefs but for Lions fans that was really a tough loss. 

I only got to see the last drive by the Chiefs, and then the Hail Mary. I’m glad they played well against one of the better teams in the League. One day they’ll start winning those, and even win their FIRST EVER playoff game! Ha! Rrrrrrright.

from what I've read the coaching staff didn't support the Haskins pick and don't think he's ready but, obviously, Dan Snyder is running the show and sent word to get him in the game ... and... 9 completions and 3 INT's .... his first NFL td was thrown to the other team.

Tough time to be a 'Skins fan.

Dan Snyder may be the worst owner in professional sports.  Especially now that the Clippers aren't owned by Donald Sterling.

The NFL is a perfect case study of idiocy in delivering fines and punishment.

Jonathan Jones delivers the near exact hit on Josh Allen yesterday that cost Burfict his entire season.

Zero fine, Zero suspension.

Allen is out and the Patriots carry on. It’s an absolute joke.

That definitely did not happen in Buffalo yesterday. Makes me sick to think that a perfectly clear helmet to helmet warrants no justice while in the same breath, the NFL makes an example of Burfict. It’s insanity.

It's hardly insanity. This is Burfict's fourth suspension on top of numerous fines and penalties for unnecessary roughness/personal fouls. The guy has a reputation for being the dirtiest player in the league and it's not really a close discussion between him and anyone else.

The Jones hit, while helmet to helmet, was not nearly the same. Jones led with his shoulder, but it was Allen being tackled from behind that altered Jones' contact point to being helmet to helmet. Did Jones need to lead with his shoulder on that play? No, but the attempt to assist in the tackle was necessary as Allen likely could have reached for first down yardage had Jones not done anything to assist the tackle from behind. It was an unfortunate play that was correctly flagged by officials, though offset by a holding penalty by the Bills. This is also not a repeat offense for Jones so it's not an equal comparison.

Burfict threw a vicious helmet to helmet hit, in which he led with the crown of his helmet, on a receiver already on the ground having just made a catch. It's a situation where all he had to do was put his hands on the player and the play's done but he didn't.

It sucks that Allen was hurt as a result of the hit from Jones but these are not equivalent situations deserving of equivalent consequences.

They are doing what I expected.... building slowly and getting young. I'm not a gruden fan.... wasn't the first time around. This will come around in Vegas. I know that Gruden doesn't want Carr, he was just stuck with him. He'll be gone after this season and Gruden/Mayock will probably trade up and take Herbert, I hope.

 

They signed Burfect, Incognito and AB hoping to give the fans in Oakland some semblance of a decent season before leaving for Vegas. It didn't work out. Most of us fans knew it wouldn't. I'll give Gruden his shot in Vegas before I start screaming...lol.

$5.3 million in fines over his career. Enough!

... What I found disturbing about the Jones hit was he took a step toward Allen to stand over and taunt him but another player pulled him away. I don't know anything about Jones so I can't hypothesize on his guilt or innocence but it sure looked intentional to me. Not intentional head to head, but clearly trying to take a shot at Allen to deliver a "message" which is easy to see with the taunting. These are the exact kind of hits the NFL is trying to do away with and have them actually tackle instead.

You can't hit a player much less a QB with a direct helmet to helmet hit and walk away without a scratch.  If the NFL truly cared about player safety, they would proactively fine him for this hit to send a message of zero tolerance.  It took the NFL this long to send a message to Burfict, why wait?  Ignoring that hit and issuing no fine just reinforces that their concern of player safety is a bunch of horsefeathers.

Enough is right.  But while we are at it, I don't want the NFL to tell me that one head to head hit isn't any less deserving regardless of the assailant.  If the player's safety is paramount, how in the world is a direct helmet hit ignored...total silliness.
