Buffalo has been said to be a drinking town with a football or hockey problem but we have also had our glory days in many ways but none more than when Jim Kelly quarterbacked us to 4 consecutive Superbowls (each one a tragedy of bad calls, missed calls, and blatant display of anti-Buffalo bias in the NFL and broadcasters) and now this amazing man in Josh Allen who himself is a story of using defeat to build a better self is carrying us forward once again.  The Bills organization has somehow lost its apparent inability to get out of its own way and once again has the earmarks of a successful team that believes in itself.  It is obvious how the rogue sportscasters who say positive things about the Bills have been given a hard time by their peers and only now that the phenomenon of Josh Allen's Bills is becoming undeniable that those who had nothing good to say about the Bills are becoming hypocrites by sounding positive (finally).  That that is ok because everyone has a bad day (or years) and forgiveness comes easily to a community that has spent decades with wondering when the next winning season will emerge. 

How much of all that comes from the enduring fanbase support of the Bills Mafia remains to be seen but the fans are the lifeblood of the regional drive to carry the Bills forward with unparalleled support to the point of mania.  There is no tailgating anywhere like it is in walking proximity of the Bills stadium, and in reality it is the biggest party imaginable with food and drinks, outdoor games of all kinds once vehicles are parked and unmoving, to the point that the football game while being the focus is only the second half of the day of fun.  It is about being community and being together wearing our Red White and Blue.  There is no fanbase that is more generous with giving than the Bills Mafia when a need is identified that can be supported to ensure those in need have that need satisfied, because it is the right thing to do.

We don't hesitate to greet with "GO BILLS" usually said loud enough for others to join in regardless of month, regardless of place, including on vacation in any state, in Europe or somewhere foreign and tropical.  We wear our colors wherever we go and look for opportunities to take photos and post them so everyone else can see where we are representing.  We know everywhere else has their own team and spirit and that is fine, the hope is that all those other places will grow to embrace the all encompassing spirit of their own version of Bills Mafia because it is about hope and life, and wanting everyone to be the best they can be.  

The fact we are seeing the best of the best wearing our Bills colors is enough for us all to be off the wall right now!

   GO BILLS!!!

... So many great QB's in the booth doing color fr games. Tony Romo is my favorite, Todd Blackledge in college and Fouts was outstanding. But Troy Aikman is brutal. This is probably him on Thanksgiving:

You have years of experience and certainly will go down as one of the best Thanksgiving meal preparers in history but you just can't make that kind of mistake on a day like this. And Dad I know you had hip surgery but you have to be faster getting the rolls to the table. Aikman is indeed brutal, but I don’t find Tony Romo to be all that great, either.  Since Dan Fouts, I can’t think of a retired QB who was worth a crap in the broadcast booth, and Bradshaw was possibly the worst , but at least he was such a clown that he provided some laughs.

I'm thinking the Raiders are a cluster f***. McDaniels is not a head coach. Mark Davis is not a good NFL owner. Derek Carr is average/serviceable ... at best. I will never see another Superbowl.

... You are not alone. Bears have something like 89 million in player salaries and 91 million playin on other teams! Trading away K Mack, R Quinn and R Smith just gutted the defense. Finally the Bears offense is scoring plenty of points but now the defense can't stop anyone. As Rosanne Rosannadana aptly proclaimed "It's Always Something!"

... Haha true dat.  Having a 2nd year QB waiting for play calls is just crazy and a recipe for failure. An NFL QB needs time to process the play and pre read the defense, not hurry to the line and hope they don't get a delay of game or olineman jumping offsides. Thankfully they were playing the Cardinals.

I realllllly am just hoping they haven’t destroyed him. The kid makes some really great throws and the head is there he just needs some stable coaching and bill is not doing him any favors. It’s tough to watch right now.

49ers and lions are my teams I’m rooting for to go somewhere. Fun to watch teams right there.

Beginning of the year o kept saying lions will come around. Took longer than I thought. 

Cambell is my favorite coach, just gritty humble guy.  I am still lost sr why Belicheck even brought Patricia back in nevermind on the offensive side. After all the stuff that came out and what he did in Detroit blows my mind

Easy boys, this is the Lions, don't be in a hurry to drink blue kool aid.  They have a good compliment of skill players and a good on-field game manager but still a long way to go.  I must admit though, some of their offensive drives and play calling this year is something not seen around Motown in several decades.  I'll put up a new avatar until they lose.

As a lifelong Motor City area person, I agree with MacTourney.......................... patience is a virtue, and they finally seem to be headed in the right direction.

Thinking the the 2023 season may be the start of a new era of a good football TEAM again here in the Motor City area.

"Restore the Roar" / "Defend the Den" / "Driven by Detroit" the most recent mottos seem to reflect the mindset of the team finally getting talented players, keeping them, and allowing them to play to their best abilities.

 

Lacassem, so glad that the old "Patriot Way" team was tossed out of town, and was shocked that Bill B. made Patricia his offensive coordinator, but maybe he thought Patricia would be able to scheme something up for the offense, knowing that their defense was so good for so long?

only games I really watched were patriots. Beginning of the year missed a ton. Way more hockey for me.

is it the downfall of the NFL?

Just quick because I don't want to derail the thread. However I have essentially watched golf (because of fantasy golf) and F1. Thats about it. Amazing what happens when a kid and other family stuff comes up and leaves so little time for those other things. 

I do miss watching football. I really enjoy it, but it also comes on so late here there is no way that I am staying up all night to watch to have to get up at 5 to work. Who knows maybe next year will be different, still love my fantasy football podcasts and so on, but I am ready for the draft and see what happens in the playoffs now.

Probably just life changes and different priorities.  After kids are grown it will change again.  Football isn’t doing itself any favors either.
