NFL thread! What are you thinking?

I haven't watched a super bowl since 2016.  Heck I haven't watched an NFL regular season or playoff game since 2016.  I'm strictly a college football fan (Georgia Bulldogs) and once college season is over, I'm done with football..

Last few years we’ve made it a neighborhood get together. About 20-30 folds show up. Those that don’t want to watch the game ((SWMBO) can play cards or whatever and a few of us watch the game. SWMBO and I head home, well across the street sometimes after 1/2 time.

I won't be watching - maybe if the Browns were in it.

9ers. I've been following the 9ers since 1986, so this is a big one for me.

I'm thinking I'll be watching the conclusion of the WM event before switching over to watch KC send SF home without the hardware.

They're actually playing a Super Bowl game today without my Patriots being involved. I understand that it's going to be official and count in the records and everything. Hard to imagine.

To what little extent that I care about a no-Patriots game, I hope the Chiefs win because they're an original AFL team (albeit first in Dallas, not Kansas City).

Plus, the Niners would join the Patriots and the (uuugh) Steelers at six Lombardy Trophies if they win.

Now if I actually had to go for a visit, then yes, in that case I'll take San Francisco over flyover country, even though my favorite hangout there, Lefty O'Doul's, has closed. Middle America isn't comfortable with my shockingly coastal values!

Sorry, Jimmy G....I know you're a fellow paisan and all, but I've got to go with Mahomes and his ridiculous haircut today....not that I'll actually be watching the game.

It’s tough to root against either of these teams. I really like what Shanahan and Saleh have done in SF but honestly, how can you root against Andy Reid?

Current mood...

What a game!! At no point during the first 50 minutes did it look like the Chiefs could score, let alone put up 31 points. Andy Reid absolutely deserves it, and Mahomes is such a great face for the NFL.

That was a tough loss to watch as a 49ers fan. In my amateur and Monday morning quarterback opinion, they should have just kept the ball on the ground, that's where they do damage. Jimmy needs to do a lot of work on his passing.

Jimmy G just isn’t a top shelf QB. He’s pretty good, but he isn’t a Mahomes, Brees, Brady , Wilson level guy. The 49ers should have won that game, but jimmy just doesn’t have that extra gear to put those games away. With that team around him and in such good health- they should have won- but the QB with the “wow” factor finished the job, even after a super shaky start...

Fully agree with the assessment - 4th quarter QB play was the difference in the game.

My thought is “Thank God that’s over.”

If getting it over with was the goal, I got it over with a month early.

Made for a very long winter, Rev.
