The Erhardt-Perkins offense used by the Patriots might as well have been a textbook on neurosurgery for him.

He got so confused that he couldn't find the stadium from the motor inn across the street.

Yet, it's not so complicated that the Crimson Tide can't use a version of it.

I didn't say the Crimson--they all got at least 1500 on their SATs.

I said the Crimson Tide.

Not sure what Randy Moss scored on his SAT/ACT test (if 'he' took it) but that seemed to work out pretty well.  Besides, this isn't the first time he's ever played football in his life; the kid (he's only 27) understands basic offensive concepts.

 

I distinctly remember this game in 2013 when he torched the Pats secondary that game planned to just stop him.

The Pats BARELY won but Belichick might have fallen in love with him (as a player) after this game...he had praise, specifically for Gordon, after the game; something he rarely does.

Yet they're all experienced receivers who couldn't grasp the playbook. I don't care how fast you run, if you can't run the right route so TB12 can put the ball in your hands, you're not going to work out. That's my point.

It's true, it's not a short list of veterans who couldn't work the playbook. I do think JG would still be ok here. If all he does is chase a jump ball on the sidelines or red zone it's still a net gain. Possibly Cordarrelle Patterson 2.0 situation.

No love for Jacksonville, huh?  While the downtown ain't much, come over to the beaches, my stomping ground.  And of course, the golf 10 minutes south of here.  I'm a transplant, chose this area out of anywhere else in Florida, and absolutely love the move.  Just MHO..

I'm not writing him off by any means, and it's been well documented that all of those receivers couldn't grasp the playbook. And there's more than those guys.

 

Bottom line I'm hoping it's more like Moss than Ocho Cinco.

And it Fitz stays healthy and keeps playing well, they could a very good deal for JW. I have never thought that JW was THE guy. Could he be solid, yes, but I think he isn't a SB level QB.

Desean Jackson praised him and said they should ride his hot streak out. But they aren't gonna have a guy making twice as much riding the pine.

I don't think they'd trade him. Having Evans and DJax can make most any qb look good

Yeah, in terms of the competitiveness, football is great right now. In other terms, not so much, but here isn't the place to get into that.

That number is pretty high, I would think 5 have a legit shot. The afc is clear, Jax vs NE. NFC, you've got Philly, GB if Rogers doesn't get hurt more, And Minnesota. I don't see any other teams have a “legit” shot

Rams for sure and you could make and argument for the

Chiefs, Broncos, Panthers, and I would throw the Bears in there. (No one will agree with me about the Bears but I see them as a viable team.)

Superbowl right now looking like Rams/Jags

 

Both teams very balanced with quality offense and defense.

 

Not great anywhere but very good everywhere.
