As someone who started Mason Crosby this week I agree 100%. 0-4 and a missed extra point before a meaningless FG with 2 seconds left in the game.

Yes you did.  I figured after I traded for Thielen he would disappear from the offense.  Glad I was wrong on that one.  Now I just need Kamara to score 6 more points than Watson so I can keep pace with you.

Yesterday was a funny day for fantasy football. It seemed like everything that helped me in one league hurt me in another. Case and point: I'll probably win my other game thanks to Gurley but might lose in MGS because of him.

 

Now I've got the rare MNF decision. Ride or die with my Redskins by starting AP or take an unknown risk on Ingram.

 

 

 

 

 

PS. 63y field goal as time expired? Oh man that gets the old kicker juices flowing. Anybody get those points?

That's a tough choice. Ingram is such an unknown at this point. It's going to be interesting to see how/if he eats into Kamara's share.

I despise kickers in FFB myself. Love that they aren't an option in daily ffb as you mentioned. That was one reason I stuck with DK of fanduel for a long time.

Sooo. Yours truly, the commish picks up Blue to play in the flex over Beasely yesterday and apparently doesn't submit the lineup change to finalize it before rushing out the door.

That cost me 18.1 points and likely a chance at the win.

I don’t see kickers as being that bad. I basically just look at them the same as a rb that is part of a committee. You never know if they are going to get 5 carries or 20. I do think that punters would have been a fun twist but that may have been even more unpredictable.

I will say that without Crosby pulling a kicker’s version of the butt fumble, I probably wouldn’t have a shot at winning tonight!

There have been multiple studies of kicker performance and nearly every single one of them came to the conclusion that kicker scoring is almost completely random.

I agree that it is all random.  Now there are players you can depend on to get you 10-20 points or more each week but they are still have their bad games and amazing games.  No better example than OBJ throwing a touchdown pass.

I'd like to see the research on this.
From what I've read there is a certain amount of predictably within the top 24 or so players.
There is absolutely zero predictably when it comes to kickers....
Exhibit A: Week 5, Crosby...good matchup, 1/6 on FG attempts 0/1 on xp
Week 2, 5/6 on FG attempts
I'll bet he's at least 3/3 this week.

Even when you play the matchup it doesn't work out.

I keep going back to DFS...each site has a DEF position but neither have a K...and these are for profit enterprises that pay very close attention to the details.

Looks like Ingram was the right choice. I had to hedge my bets against the Redskins tendency to get boat raced in prime time. Needed all those points too because Mr All-Time Passing Leader almost covered the comeback by himself. As to Kamara, he was looking pretty bummed on the sideline when they showed him late game.

 

Digest league has a log jam if I've ever seen one. 8 teams separated by 1 game. UW, you ready to battle for first? Let's get it on! I'm gonna run my analytics to ensure I've got the difference-making kicker.

 

Truth is stretched a little thinner since PA is still beating everyone. Yikes. Seems like that side of the league is all taking turns beating each other.

Agreed, in my other league, you get negative points for kicker misses. I got -4.5 for Crosby this week....

It would be good if the guys at the bottom of the standings would at least make a minimal effort to stay competitive.  Not naming names, but if our last place team had bothered to even play a TE and a Flex, he would have easily beat our second place team.  There are others as well.

This was my biggest hesitation about having such a large league. In the past, I kept it small(1 division) and those who didn't participate when they got off to rough starts weren't allowed to play the next season.
I may need to put that policy back into place.

I've noticed that too, but what better incentive could you get than a golden ticket for a MGS product test next year? That will for sure keep me playing all season long.

Two things to keep in mind...

1. there are some guys in the league that already have plenty/all of the golf stuff they want/need so that reward isn't as big for them

2. this isn't free golf gear; you still need to do a 2 stage review along with follow-ups....not sure if you've been selected for a review but it requires quite a bit of work 

...however I agree, that is a sweet prize for 1 lucky person out of 28... which is roughly a 3.5 percent chance.
