What I don't understand is why he broke it after MAKING the putt.

If he had three putted from there I would get where he was coming from but he made it.

I also thought the timing of choosing to do that was a bit off, didnt check but maybe (presumably) round wasnt going all that well. However, technique is commendable, get him on golf channel soon for a little instructional series

I would surely give him a perfect 10 for execution, it indeed was a clean break.   However, as style points go, I'll give him a 6 at best.  Using his knee showed a lack of creativity.  I think the guys that break them over their heads do so with a bit more style for example.   And that he walked off carrying the pieces as opposed to a good toss or throw shows a lack of intensity.   As others have noted, his timing lack a bit of style as well, that is, he did so after making a par.  If he had done so after a double bogey, for example, his performance would have been much more meaningful to his audience.

I don't get how someone gets that angry at golf. But I guess missing a putt that could potentially cost you hundreds of thousands yeah I'd probably break things also

That was kind of my thought.  Why break it after you just made it?  Unless that was the very first putt he had made all day then I could see it.

But the big difference between he and us hacks is that he can just run to the trailer at the end of the round and replace it. I have to go buy another $400 putter. That's why I don't break clubs anymore

Yeah, but if your putting bad enough to want to break, chances are you going to buy a new putter anyway. Might as well have some fun with it.😉😄
