Kevin Sutherland's 59 Bookends

Kevin Sutherland shoots a 59 at the 2014 Dicks Sporting Goods event and nearly did so again yesterday, shooting a 60 at The Boeing Classic. I was so rooting for him on 18 to get the second 59.  I find it kind of funny the names who are in this "go way low" club aren't predominantly who we'd expect;  Goydos, Furyk, Snedeker, Sutherland, Chip Beck, Al Geiberger, Stuart Appleby, Adam Hadwin.  I think only Duvall and Thomas are only former #1's to be part of the club?

 

I'm thinking we'll see more sub 60 round watch alerts more frequently as the years roll along - what do you think?

Probably not, at least for a while. The game is still just as hard and scores aren't really getting much lower.

Maybe by 2025 we will see scores dropping and 59's being more common. I think the most telling thing is that there has still only been one 58.

As long as there is putting, shooting 59 will be incredibly hard to achieve.
