SPY VIP GolfSpy_X Posted November 21, 2010 SPY VIP Share Posted November 21, 2010 Next year the PGA tour will be allowing cellphone use at more events. As long as you have it on silent or vibrate...lol. Do you think that this will spread the word about tournaments by allowing people to share info instantly about what is going on or do you think it will almost surely cause issue with peoples ringers going off during play? Love to hear all your opinions on this topic. #TruthDigest
Matt Saternus
I'm sure this is going to cause a mess of problems between ringers going off and people snapping cell phone pics. At the same time, you make a good point about people being able to communicate about being at an event and that increasing the visibility of the tour, in some regards. For me, the cost of phones interfering with play outweighs this benefit. Follow me on Twitter: @MattSaternus
jamo
As long as the phone is on silent the camera shouldn't make any noise, plus it's outside so there should be no flash. I guess they really want to push the PGA Tour app.
