Hey Spies,

Been looking around for an air fryer.

Never had one or tried one but that dang infomercial has me hooked to get one.

Any recommendations or experience with them?

What do you want to fry?

 

If it's turkeys, I've heard nothing but great reviews for the Big Easy.

What do you want to fry?

My wife and I made an impulse purchase of one about a year ago. I use it a ton for fries, hashbrown patties, etc. There are many more things you can cook in it, I just haven't tried them.

 

I've even done home made fries - cut potatoes, toss with about a tablespoon of vegetable oil, cook until desired crispness. Should be much healthier than frying in oil.

 

The brand we bought was a NuWave air fryer. It also came with a little cook book of other things to try.

For fresh fries, not quite as good, in my opinion, but really pretty close. For frozen fries, the air fryer does better than an oven. We used to have a deep fryer, but almost never used it for frozen fries, just because of the mess we would end up making.

Keep us posted on this air fryer.  I am intrigued, just not quite enough to buy one yet.  I will watch to see what else you master in that thing and how the taste compares with frying it the messy way.

Turned out great.
Cooked at 375 for 9 min. Flip. Then another 7-8.
Also cooked some smoke sausage. Since it was already cooked. Just wanted to brown it a lil.
So after the brats. Did the sausage for 6 flip then 6 more.
They turned out very nice also. Especially after putting lil BBQ sauce on them
