Press Release

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres and Callaway Golf today announced that The Links at Petco Park, the original nine-hole ballpark golf experience, will return for the fourth year in a row from Wednesday, November 7 to Monday, November 12. As part of the experience, golfers will have the unique opportunity to take shots onto the playing field from various tees along an unrivaled course within the ballpark.

The fully immersive nine-hole course will feature signature holes from years past at home plate and the roof of the Western Metal Supply Co. building. Holes throughout the course will also feature unique themes and the opportunity to win different prizes. Golfers will be escorted by their own dedicated caddy for the entirety of the course. During their round, golfers will play with all Callaway equipment, including the Company's Rogue Irons, Mack Daddy 4 Wedges, and Chrome Soft Golf Balls. Upon completion of the course, golfers will finish their day in the Budweiser Loft, which will be transformed into a Callaway clubhouse. There, they will have the opportunity to relax with additional food and beverages available for purchase, watch other golfers along the course, putt on a putting green and shop for commemorative items.

The course will be reserved for media and corporate use on Tuesday, November 6, and will be open to the public for purchase Wednesday, November 7 to Monday, November 12. Padres Members, past buyers, FriarWire subscribers and those registered on the wait list looking to secure a foursome for their preferred date and time will have access to a special Platinum tee time presale beginning tomorrow between 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. General tee times and Platinum twosomes will be available to the same group beginning Thursday, September 13 at 10:00 a.m. at www.padres.com/thelinks. Tee times to the general public will go on sale Friday, September 14 at 10:00 a.m. Entry may be purchased for twosomes or foursomes with tee times throughout the day beginning at 7:00 a.m. Callaway clubs and balls will be provided for golfers to use for this experience.

Pricing starts at $150 for twosomes ($75 per player) and $300 for foursomes. The cost includes a limited edition “The Links at Petco Park” hat, a nine-hole round for each golfer, scorecard, access to the clubhouse and a dedicated caddy for each foursome. Golfers may also add a hot meal, drink ticket or pre-purchased parking passes to any package for an additional cost. Upgraded twosome and foursome Platinum packages will also be available for $450 and $900 respectively and include a $50 gift card to the clubhouse, two drink tickets per person and one parking pass per twosome in addition to everything included in the standard package. Spectator tickets will also be available for $5 with access to the clubhouse only.

I wonder if something similar could be done at Camden Yards.   After this year's baseball season, it would be nice if the residents in and around Baltimore could find something enjoyable there.

Sounds like this could be a great contest giveaway for Calloway or their retailers.

They did it at Fed Ex Field last year. But yeah it would be cooler at a baseball park.

Who wants to take a MGS trip to San Diego?! Wish they did this somewhere on the East Coast...I'd be a sweet setup at PNC Park...

Not sure I would want to play Bethpage in November, but I live 15 minutes away and can play just about anytime I want to. Now if that was not the case I would be there in a minute if I could get a game there.

Been a good golf year and I’m getting pumped for next year.  For now it’s clean the clubs and practice putting in the garage.

Curious to see if anyone plays or has opinions about my clubs.

Almost a total remodel of the bag.

Glide Forged 60 KBS Hi Rev 2.0
       SS 28 CS 33"

Driver: Thank you MGS, flat out the best driver I have ever had in the bag.
3W: A random purchase after being unable to hit the original epic 3w. Put same shaft that I was fit for in the epic and it has been a match made in heaven. Absolute money from the tee and I know exactly what it will do from the fairway. Combined with the driver there are not many par 5's that I can't reach.
5W: Solid club but this spot has always been a trouble spot in my bag and that hasn't changed in 20 years.
Irons: Love the combo and they feel absolutely amazing. All of them are 1* strong, standard lie and +1/2" Biggest thing I was looking for in making the change was more control. They definitely fly different than P790's but hopefully after an adjustment period they will meet or exceed my expectations.
Wedges: A different look from what I am used to but feel is amazing. The shaft on full swings is so easy for me to deliver correctly.
Putter: Not a fast revolving door but one that moves some. Have gotten used to the look of the center shaft but still struggling with alignment some.
Ball: Titleist PROV1X #23 imprinted with THEZIPR in blue. Have played this ball since its birth and while I have tried many other options nothing has been able to kick it out.
      Rangefinder: Bushnell PRO X2
Glove: Footjoy Weathersof. Love the Ping tour glove but at the rate I go through gloves I just can't justify the price difference.
Shoes: Ecco Biom G 3 BOA and Biom Hybrid 3 BOA. Most comfortable shoes I have ever worn.
