Very interesting! I definitely need to have the shaft evaluated by a fitter.

I got out for a few holes earlier this week, and moved up a set of tees to the gold, so I could play primarily 3 wood mot of the way around, i still feel like I needed to give it more in play time to make a fair comparison.

The more I hit this club the more I like it.   One it gives me the ohhh sooo slightest draw off the tee, and flies a bit lower than the driver, so I get a bit more roll out with it.  We are definitely on the eve of our "off season" here, so the ground is not fast and firm, but I hit plenty of tee shots that left me 100 yards or less in....hey I could get used to these gold tees!

But I was very happy with the flight I was seeing and the distance, probably around 190 to 210 in most cases off the tee, and on one occasion of the deck on a par 5, about 190.    So it is definitely working for  a slot in my bag right now.

I'm transitioning to a new setup for 2019.  But I did play 9 holes of league this week with the Irons still in the bag for the moment.

They did just as well as they did during the testing period last fall.  They are still very nice looking at address and give as good of feel as most any other forged iron out there.

I still have the full bag, and did get to play twice this week (first times out since November, don't ask...)  I hit the driver, 3W and hybrids really well and I still am quite pleased having them in the bag.  I can't see changing anything in my bag this season, just need to practice and play more.

"Where'd it go?"  "Right in the Lumberyard..."

The irons and hybrids are in my bag for the foreseeable future. The D and 3W are good, but I think I need different shafts (too high of launch and backspin when I hit them with a launch monitor) and I plan on getting a fitting this summer to see for sure.

On the original JGR, I did the 2 club Test Drive Demo Program and found the Tour Green was the perfect shaft for me. Low Launch and Low Spin. Was thinking of doing the same with the the current TourB JGR with the Helium Shaft. The original JGR was so good for me that my friends told me to never trade that club in and I haven’t.

I had the exact same results with the original JGR driver and traded it in a year later. I’m an idiot!

For the test, we didn't have much choice with shafts, although @MGoBlue100 was able to get a different shaft since he needed X.

The hybrids and irons are in my bag until they either break or something better comes along. The driver was just a hook machine for me so it was replaced by a TM M5 (which I'm loving) and the 3 wood was almost as good as my Mizuno JPX-EZ but couldn't quite displace that out of the bag.

The Irons that everyone says they have in their bag are the H2 I assume.

I thought I would post a little update on the woods from this test.

I have put the driver in timeout until a couple things happen: 1) do a proper fitting and see what happens with a different shaft and 2) I need a lesson for the big sticks - the only thing consistent with woods in my hands is inconsistency.

Right now, my old Callaway Razr Fit 3W is being used in place of this driver and I am using the JGR 3W where I would normally use a 3W - I have found the JGR to be more accurate than the Callaway, but not as long. Here are some ShotScope stats now that I have been using the Callaway for a couple rounds (the yellow 3W is the Callaway):

582012013_PAvg05242019.png.3b64c24a7ebc1e72f6a555edd804cb5b.png

This week in our league I was hitting the Callaway pretty well off the tee and had 2 drives that were 230-240 range with the course still being relatively soft.

I do not believe there is anything inherently wrong with the clubs, I just firmly believe that shaft choices were completely wrong for me. The clubs are designed to launch high, which is something I generally do not need, so I feel I need a shaft that somewhat counteracts that to reduce height and spin. The issue I am running into is if I pay for a fitting and would be looking at buying an aftermarket shaft and getting it installed, why not go all the way and find the best head for me, too?

As for the hybrids, I find them stupid easy to hit. I'm sure there could be some optimization on the shaft side, but at the moment, I see no need.

Comment on ShotScope - I love the fact that they send you extra tags as it makes these kinds of tests really, really easy. Put club in bag, swing club. That's it. I currently have the extra tags in my old Driver, 3W, 3H, and Mizuno GW.

Sorry, I did not see this post until I was updating this thread.

To answer your question, the 4 of us were given the choice of the HF1 or HF2 - all of us opted for the HF2 as we were not sure we could handle the appearance of the HF1 at address.

Here is a link to that thread....

Within the last week I've put the "OG" JGR driver back in the bag, simply because it has a beautiful GD AD DI-6x shaft that I simply prefer over the ProForce V2.  Other than that, these are all still in the bag at least through this season!
