bdowning
I'm holding out making any decisions on my next purchase until I have a better understanding of what the next generation iblade is released. I know the i500 just dropped and has been well received on the market place, and was hoping someone had some insight pertaining to the iblade 2.0. Does anyone know what kind of timeframe we can be looking at for these?
RoverRick
I have no idea however, we are talking about PING. Unlike TaylorMade and Callaway who bring out a new set of irons because the moon has changed phase, PING will bring a new set when they are darned good and ready. Although they have gotten more prone to changing their line up. bens197 and GB13 2 Quote G430LST 10.5° on T P T POWER 18 Hi Driver G430MAX 3w on T P T POWER 18 Hi Fairway G425 3H on T P T POWER 18 Hi Hybrid P790 Black 4-A on TGI 80S ES21 54-8° & 58-12° on Hi Rev DF2.1 on White ProV1 Precision Pro NX7 Pro All Iron grips are BestGrips Micro-Perforated Mid Driver, 3w, 3H are JumboMax JMX UltraLite XS

gchester33
With the amount of prerelease info that comes out with regards to USGA certification and such I would think if something were coming soon we'd know about it by now. That and considering the new irons Ping has dropped I wouldn't be surprised if it was going to be a while before a new blade release. So it boils down to whats your time frame on new irons? geez2323
Ping has been releasing clubs pretty regularly lately, a lot more than normal. I would not be surprised if they are out in a few months. I noticed they are on sale at Golf Galaxy now, usually a sign. I love my current iBlades, would take a lot to replace them. No immediate rush. Love the feel of the current iblade but concerned with the feedback the finish has received over time. Love the X-Forged and very curious about the new Mizuno JPX919 Tours. Will give Ping a couple months before I make my decision. I know Ping does have the iblade 2.0 trademarked, so I believe its more a matter of when, not if they hit the market place. Shankster
Ready to see these in the wild. I’m taking Tony’s word for it that there will be iBlade 2.0 or whatever, not the blueprint. Hurry up PING. JohnSmalls

Shankster
Besides the i210? Yeah. That doesn’t check the players iron box for me. When I tested the i200’s they were just fine, but the extra offset wasn’t for me. The iblade is a forgiving iron that looks like a players iron. The i200’s were a “players iron” that looked like a GI club. Soles were too wide, etc.

The iblade is that club, next in line for the S series. It really was/is the ultimate tour cavity.... badged as a blade. Yeah, the 200’s/210’s got/get a lot of use for sure, but you have to be a ping die hard to enjoy that amount of offset and chunkiness on an iron.Iblade is way more pleasant to look at, and from the little testing I did it felt more forgiving and softer than the i200. But that memory is a few years old now. bens197

I understand why some refuse to call it a blade but I absolutely loved how it felt and performed. Who knows, maybe they’ll remodel the iblade and keep the blueprint and i210 series?
