@Bucky - I knew this would come for you!  Great work and yeah it really is nuts -

I was on the range today at my club and one of our mini tour players was with me - I was hitting driver all around the flag, some just short, some bounding past, that I measured at 242.  He couldn't believe it - I was pretty close to where he was hitting his fairway wood (he's a notoriously short hitter - he drives it around 270).  He has the SuperSpeed sticks but hasn't really done the program in earnest - he's rethinking that. 🙂  This guy has some game - he qualified to participate in Monday qualifying for PGA events this year - (I didn't realize you have to do that but apparently there's a qualifying event for that)

Taylor Made Stealth 2 10.5 Diamana S plus 60  Aldila  R flex   - 42.25 inches

SMT 4 wood bassara R flex, four wood head, 3 wood shaft

Ping G410 7, 9 wood  Alta 65 R flex

Srixon ZX5 MK II  5-GW - UST recoil Dart 65 R flex

India 52,56 (60 pending)  UST recoil 75's R flex

Evon roll ER 5 32 inches

It's our offseason so auditioning candidates - looking for that right mix of low spin long, more spin around the greens - TBD

Okay here’s a no no confession. I just finished a workout which means back to back days. If I hadn’t I would only have two in this week with one being the ASD yesterday. Since the ASD 2 that I’m doing is lighter than normal I thought it worth the experiment.

Here’s what I learned:

It took much longer to warm up! I was very slow through the standing swings - so much so I almost shut down.

Once I got warm I hit normal numbers through kneeling and the double step drills even posting my fastest ever dominant red club swing - 105! (I’m not doing the full updates anymore as those ended with the stage 2 review but I’m still filling out the spread sheet for Daisy)

I was total spent going into the last three swings and the best speed that I could muster there was considerably off - 108 when I will often have 3 swings over 110 on that round.

All in all I wouldn’t make this a habit but also wouldn’t be afraid to do it again if need be. We’ll see how I feel tomorrow but I’m in reasonably good shape and suspect my body tolerated the work out fine.

I’m playing tomorrow and work from 730 AM to 530 Sunday afternoon. That will be a demanding day and I’m not seeing a workout at the end of it. I’m seeing a beer, a lazy boy and a recorded golf tournament. :)

Okay since I’m the one who gets to play and see what happens with increased driver swing speed.

Played the South Course at Innisbrook. I played in a tournament on that course a year and a half ago and although I could remember it well it was as if I was playing a different course.

Here are some comparisons (a year ago first)

Number 1 - 330 yard par 4
Driver - 9 iron from 118
Driver - 60 from 67

Number 6 - 380 par 4
Driver - hybrid
Driver - wedge

Number 7 - 410 par 4
Driver - 4 wood
Driver - 7 iron (should have hit 8)

Number 13 400 par 4
Driver - hybrid
Driver - 9 iron

Number 14 560 yard par 5
Driver, 4 wood, hybrid
Driver, 3 wood, 7 iron (into a huge wind)

Totally different game!

My wife promised me a new driver after finishing stage 2, as a reward and motivation for doing the program. I was able to get out and play 18 today, but unfortunately it didn't arrive at the house until I was teeing off on 12.

Not my best day driving the ball, most of the day I was fighting a nasty low pull hook. I think my Burner was suspicious it was going to be replaced.

Wow what a great present. Enjoy that driver. Which shaft is in it and what flex?

I have the LST with a Ping Pro shaft in it. Very accurate club.

Was out of town and got to play 18 at Ocean City Golf Club on Friday. 60 something degrees and windy. I thought I noticed a difference with swing speed. Hit some big drives so I thought my speed had increased but still not sure as the wind was a big factor. On Saturday I went to an indoor golf simulator I have never used. Average driver speed was 100 mph with top speed of 103. My average on the last simulator was 88-92 last year. I am back home and I am going to check out my speed on a known simulator that I have used before to see if these numbers are real. Totally stoked if they are!!!!!

I did order the swing speed radar as well....should be here this week.

Anyone else see Mickelson doing a couple of quick SuperSpeed "rebound" swings with his driver during the round on Sunday?  Ian Baker-Finch even mentioned that Phil was a big believer in the speed sticks.  I know SuperSpeed has mentioned Phil before but it was still pretty cool to hear them talk about it during a Sunday broadcast.

I did not but I do know that SuperSpeed is having a great start to the year - I believe Phil would be the 3rd SuperSpeed winner this calendar year - at least based on the pros that are listed on their site.

Yup! I was right behind him on the 6th tee when he was doing the drill with his driver.. He has some impressive speed with the rebound! The speed sticks have definitely made a difference in his game. Everyone has been commenting on how fast he's swinging the driver now.

Went to next protocol this morning. Felt a little junky this morning but not bad enough to not work out. I am starting to come down with some sort of illness. The five swings from each side along with the kneeling had me seriously winded due to my less than perfect health right now.  I hit the simulator this afternoon. Average driver swing was 97 mph....average carry was 230-240 yards. I think the sim I was on over the weekend was accurate. This is awesome.

Swing speed radar arrived this afternoon so I will start tracking that as well.

I have a question for all of you.  Do you need to track all of the swings?  Or can you just track the last ones with the green stick?  Any thoughts and opinions appreciated.

Awesome results@joen! I'm glad to hear that you've gained some serious speed. I hope your illness gets out of your system soon.

I tracked every shot when starting out, but now I only keep track of my fastest swing with each club, each protocol. Honestly, I realized that it took too much time to record every single swing and that I'd run out of room in my notebook pretty fast doing that. My notebook looks like this:

L. 115 103
M. 111 100 regular
H 107 100

L. 102 86

What ASD are you doing? I ask because our numbers for kneeling are similar but I have you by a bit on the regular swings. I feel like that would be the sequencing or ground force protocol. Also would be curious to see what everyone else is getting on their kneeling swings.

I'm doing the sequencing ASD protocol to start out, then going to move to the lag. I've done the self diagnosis for the sequencing twice and have seen between 10 and 12 percent drop between full and half swings.

Sometimes it’s hard to compare SuperSpeed club numbers person to person because we are using different clubs. Some of us start at yellow and others at green.

It makes a difference.

At any rate the question is kneeling swings.

Here are my highs:
Green RH 98, LH 97
Blue. RH 95. LH 96
Red. RH 91 LH 93

I’m doing ASD 2 - Did my first one last week.

I’m going to try when I get home. Just played a quick 9 after church. Daisy challenged me to swing as hard as I could with driver. So I did. Here’s a sample:

IMG_1570.JPG

This device is 3 mph slower than the radar we use so 97 on this is 100 on that. I averaged 88 on it before we started, 94.7 today. Just under 240 for my 6 drives on the old GPS.

Pretty stoked!!!

I hope Daisy sees this. emoji41.png

Nicely done.

So, am I going to be the bad guy with the low score of a 70?  If I had to write my stage 2 before the week 14 test it would have been in the 80-90 range, but that 1mph drop totally got me.  Living in Wisconsin I also had to lower the score since not everyone will have ceilings high enough to swing during the winter months.

I took last week off as I was traveling for work.  Did my first session of Level 3 today and just for fun I swung my driver a few times without placing a ball down after the workout.  My first full swing with the driver came in at 115, a full 5 mph over my average speed at the end of Stage 2.  I really wish I could get outside to test this out a little more.

I also did a half swing that came in at 113 mph versus my 115 full swing.  Guess I won't have to worry about the Kinematic ASD in week 20.  So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

I can understand you were upset with the small 1 mph drop but we did inform you that your second jump in speed wouldn't necessarily be at the end of Level 2 it would be somewhere between the middle of level 2 and the middle of level 3. That is not because of our protocols, it's because of human biology. In essence, your body stores onto the speed until your body changes the muscle fiber type that it recruits. You nor anyone else has any control over when your body will release the speed. It is all individual. You can see in the graph below that we showed you for "an average player" doing SuperSpeed training, but it is very hard to predict speed gains. You can't take a cookie cutter approach when everyone is individual.

We understand your concern for people living in colder environments. We would benefit more from you scoring our system and not your ceiling height. We have seen many people in Europe training outside in the snow!

I don’t think you’re a bad guy at all. Your score reflects the fact that it took an extra week for you to get past the plateau. Had my review been posted yesterday, as I intended, it would have been 87. Today convinced me that I had that additional 2-3 percent which made it 90/100 or as advertised.

We could all just as easily say, “ incomplete.” How are we to know if 14 weeks is permanent as SuoerSpeed states? Why would we stop knowing there might be a few more mph to gain?

I’m trying to go for the full 70 plus weeks. Why not? I want that 100 mph so bad I can taste it.

Good points here, I think that reviewing the progression graph will give everyone the information they need to understand that everyone goes through a plateau phase. The second jump could be anywhere from the middle of level 2 to the middle of level 3. Everyone is built differently and genetics and many other environmental factors will influence when you get your second jump.

With regards to your "incomplete" comment...Everyone has an athletic potential. No one performs anywhere near their true athletic potential but doing all you can to get yourself there is only going to help. At SuperSpeed our goal is to hit all biomechanical components of speed in our protocols to give you the best chance in increasing speed. We supply you with over 72 weeks worth of training which we feel is pretty extensive. We even individualize the training and give you easy manual test you can perform at no cost to test your proficiency in the areas of speed.

Even still, you're only going to reach your athletic potential if you work with the right team. Getting the right medical care, fitness training, biomechanical analysis and golf coaching will optimize your abilities to produce speed. How are we supposed to know if we have reached our potential? How do we know if this is really all the speed we can gain? The answer is, we don't know. What we do know is that you can adapt your body by the way you train and if you want to get fast you have to train fast!

I have definitely seen faster speeds at the end versus the start of the workout with the light club.  In most cases, |'m at least matching my light club swings with the medium and sometimes the heavy. Then the max swings with the light club at the end are significantly faster than the first swings.

And I'm in eastern Hillsborough - Bloomingdale is my 'home' course.

Great Job Greg! That is because swinging the light club first primes the neurological system to activate muscles faster. You're doing exactly what we promote which is to try and match the same speed as you get heavier. Then you get your driver in your hands and Boom!

Don't forget that we are still in the plateau stage. I imagine those who didn't gain any speed will just see their jump during the level 3 protocol. Daisy seemed more surprised with the people who were seeing their jumps early.

I remember reading a while back about the kneeling swings being tough on the knees and SS sending you guys the kneeling pads.  I actually bought one last month so that I'm ready to go next week when I start the kneeling swings myself.

I haven't heard before that Greek yogurt is good at reducing pain, I'll have to give that a try (with some blueberries mixed in of course!).  I keep the ibuprofin at a minimum since I understand it can be tough on the liver is you take it a lot.

I'll experiment a little with a 1 or 2 minute rest between clubs to see if that makes any difference.  My teeth aren't too long just yet (coming up on 57), so that should be plenty.

Question for the group here:  do you guys rest at all between sets of swings?  I've been just banging them out one set after the other, just stopping to write down the numbers and grab the next club.  Now that I think about, I should probably take a minute or two between sets, like with any other exercise.

Slow day at work, so my brain is looking for something to think about...

Thanks for your question! When training for speed you tend to recruit energy from a system that depletes fairly quickly. Therefore we recommend taking 30 second rest intervals after each set. 1 set can be defined as 3 swings each side with each club. Just like when you're working out!

You don't want to rest too long between light medium and heavy as you want the brain to hold onto the new information (faster speed) when you swing the next club so you maintain the same speed with the heavier club. A few seconds to write down numbers is fine. When you hit balls after your very first session you will see that after 10-15 balls the speed will wear off and you will need to repeat the SuperSpeed training in order for your body to remember that speed permanently.

I hope this answered your question about when to rest during SuperSpeed training.

@SuperSpeed I don’t know if you saw my earlier post about where I was hitting my approach shots from on Saturday verses a year ago.

415 - driver 4 wood short a year ago - driver 7 iron to the back of the green this year.

I’ve done significant work in all four areas that you mentioned in your reply to one of our posts.

I’ve lost significant weight through a fitness program, my physician is so happy with my progress that he is weaning me off of the heart med I was on, my teacher continues to tweak and of course there’s SuperSpeed - looking forward to seeing the impact of the ASD 2 training protocol -

When we started I was hoping for 95, now I’m wanting to lock in 100 and am greedy enough to want more - 105? Champions tour stuff? Why not?

It’s a goal, I’m goal oriented.
