I have some vacation coming up and needed to burn some time. I have no real plans.

There is is a budding plan to drive from NC, where I’ll be visiting my dad, to drive on up to Long Island ( never been there) and play the Black course.

Alright Spies, on this little trip where else should I play? Eat? Visit? I guess, to clarify, on the way up and back where would y’all play? Eat, visit?

If you are driving up Rt. 95 and will be going through northern Virginia and Maryland,  I have got to believe there are a number of your spy buds that would love to meet ya and enjoy a round of golf with ya.

Think I am going up 81 from Greensboro-ish NC north. May try to play somewhere in the Shenandoah’s. On the way back if I have time I may be coming down 95.

If you make it to LI and want to meet up for a cold one, after golf, lemme know. I can't play the Black course, though - walked alongside a lot of the course during a Barclays and wow it's more than I can handle... If you get there do enjoy your round!

Oh.. there's a place just west of the PA / NJ border called Shawnee. Has 3 x 9 hole courses and a separate short game facility. Hosted the '38, I think it was, PGA. Good brew pub there, too!

Hardest course I’ve ever played by a mile.

Starting to shape up. Potomac Blue in DC. Then on to The Black possibly through a Coney Island stop to see a friend. Then on to Montauk to camp and golf.
Start back south.....

You cant go wrong with Finley. Beautiful course and very challenging.

I have so much to say about this trip that I am kind of ending, golfing wise, tomorrow. I plan to do a complete write up. With pics and costs. If there is anyone interested.
But...and a huge but..
I did swing the Spy Headquarters today and you know what they say about meeting your hero’s...they may disappoint you....not true. Those guys were so nice and generous with their time and many other things I couldn’t believe I walked away with. Adam, Sam, Harry, Matt thank you, thank you very much. Y’all were as surprised to see me walk through the door as I was in your hospitality.
