Now here we go, don’t care who the Sawx play.
I’m not sure if it’s the case but the Red Sox seem to have the longest games no matter who they play.

You sure you don’t care who the Sox play next? Two teams tied for longest average length of game time in 2018 at 3:13 per 9 inning game. They were the Red Sox and Dodgers.

Yeah me too. Despite the 4 games to 1 win they were very good, compelling games. You get nervous when they put Kimbrell in last night? I sure did.

Kimbrell scares me 1/2 to death. Even the last out sent Benentendi back to the wall. Price did a great job.

The bastards kept me up to almost 4AM losing that eighteen inning fiasco in LA.

I don't know what to expect tonight.

The boys look exhausted.

They could lose all three in LA and have to sweep at Fenway.

I clearly remember that's how the Twins won their titles in '87 and '91.

Anyway, no baseball up against the Pats game in Buffalo Monday night.

Pats have only 16 regular season games, and I've already missed one watching the Red Sox.

I DVR'd it and skimmed through the early highlights after watching the fourth quarter live.

But it's more likely the Red Sox' year than the Pats.'    The Sox HAVE to win.

That game was brutal, 7.5 hours. I’m recording tonight’s game so if I fall asleep I can stay asleep.
Sawx have to win this game. Don’t care about football until Series is over.

The Sox definitely come first.

I slept until 10, this morning. But I still wasn't right all day.

I remember when all-nighters were fairly routine and involved more than watching TV---

but just barely, because it was so long ago.

OK.

118 wins.

Three chances at number 119.

We had World Series wins in 1903, 1912, 1915, 1916, 1918, 2004, 2007, and 2013.

(The Boston Braves won in 1914 but that doesn't count.)

For whatever reason, I can only remember seeing the last three of the eight Red Sox World Series wins..

I'm needing another one right about now.

I think your going to get it, Nifty. I'm shocked that Houston isn't playing.... and winning right now. They are/were the best team in baseball. Just goes to show that nothing is ever a given.

Going through two other 100-win-teams, the Yanks and Astros, made us clear favorites over LA.

That was really, really hard, even if it didn't take that many games.

I was feeling good after we took the Dodgers twice in Boston,

but loosing that 18-inning game at Chavez Ravine was very much like taking a hard left hook right on the liver.

There was no way of knowing if we'd find our legs again after that.

Our top hitters looked like they were swing salamis instead of bats in Game 4,

but our scrubs came through big instead.

The big money bats have to wake up if we're going to finish the job.

Can't fault the pitchers as a whole--most of them have done their jobs.

Yup I’m due for another one.
Sox should have won the 18 inning game, Kinslers throwing error was third out.
Last night Dodger rally should not have happens because Bellinger was hit by the ball in fair territory and was not called out.
I’m sure there were a few breaks for the Sox also but for some reason I won’t remember those.
What’s with Manny Machado spiking 1st basemen ankles and second basemen knees

As for Kinsler,  I'm trying to figure out why a ballpark in Los Angeles was in such deplorable condition while a 106 year old one one in frigid Boston looked like Augusta National in comparison.  Chavez Ravine looked like a mine field.  Did it just host a rugby tournament?  That was atrocious, and yet nobody mentioned anything about it. Not even Kinsler.

As for running to first in fair territory, they just don't enforce that rule and I can't understand why.

It must not be reviewable, because it couldn't have been more obvious.

Maybe if Vazquez drilled Bellinger on the back of his helmet, they'd have reviewed the play to see if it was on purpose.

Running on the infield is not reviewable.
As far as the conditions I really didn’t notice but Kinsler has plenty of time and didn’t need to rush the throw.
I hope it’s over tonight so I can get some sleep.

Unfortunately, I still have the Pats to keep me away.
And I don't even like football that much.   Just the freakin' Pats.

I fell asleep watching that poop show by the Pats last night. Guess I was tired from that 18 inning game the other night. Glad the Sox did it and did it quickly.

Now the question is how soon will Sox fans start complaining next season?

If we're not complaining before spring training is over, that would mean that we're all dead.

I don't think New England is on a major fault line,

but I'm not a seismographic expert.

I'm watching the Red Sox parade through Boston.

The streets are mobbed, even though it's our fourth title in fifteen years.

Lots of alumni from the past three champions are in the parade as well.

Pedro Martinez and Big Papi got cheered as if they were on this year's team.

I had to wait until I was 58 to see my first Red Sox parade..

Ted Williams, Carl Yastrzemski, Jim Rice, Wade Boggs---I watched them all not win titles.

Go figure.

Anyway, I'm also ready for a sixth Patriots parade, but I'm not holding my breath with this year's team.

We won both trophies in 2004. That was cool. We could actually feel Middle America's rage!

It's impossible to keep championship teams together.

Price wasn't dumb enough to opt out of his 30M / yr. deal.

We have him forever now.,

and our good young players are arbitration eligible en route to free agency eligible.

Sale was picked up for a reasonable 15M, but that's just for a year.  After that?

I see him as a closer as he can take the ball whenever you ask him to, but can't always go very far.

We're going to lose important role players because other clubs will overpay for them based on this world series.

So let's enjoy what we just got.

My father years ago had a chart of Sox 40 man roster players, minor leaguers and available players. This was B4 computers and Excel, The man loved his baseball.
I follow but not to his extent.
