GolfSpy_APH
I can't say I did. It looked very similar to my I e1 And less offset then the anser. It does have a boxy look, however I only really noticed that when they were side by side with the i500. I didn't notice is much on the course or over testing. I’m wondering if any of the i210 testers see what I see... When I look down at the PW, it looks closed, and very upright. I think it has to do with the way the top edge that meets the hosel is cut-out. Anyone else get a sense of upright and closed at address??? GolfSpy_APH
Wow I have played 20 or so rounds with mine and many range sessions and mine aren't even close to that.... How bad were those range balls? One thing that a DBM finish would do is increase the durability of the i210s. I posted this pic in my FWB Stage 2. The face was marked-up on this 9 iron after I hit a dirty ball on the range. I don’t even have 3 rounds in with these yet... txgolfjunkie
We've got plenty of sand-based ranges down here but we've been relegated to mats most of the late summer/early fall with all the rain. I don't have nearly the wear and tear on the face of the irons. I usually do my best to wipe off the range ball before I start hitting away. I know that's tedious when you're anxious to start your practice session, but it saves the face of the irons, especially the driver/3 wood. Those sandy ranges are torture on new equipment, especially if you've got a steep AoA and taking solid divots. PMookie
The WORST thing about the i210s are the teeny-tiny pieces of plastic that cover the numbers on the soles of the clubs! txgolfjunkie
I didn't add a lot in regards to spin or launch or ball flight in my review and that's because my only comparison with solid launch monitor numbers is with the Bridgestone J15CBs. I know it's all relative and there's not really a set benchmark for low spin, high launch, etc. So in case people were wondering my thoughts, here's what I found between the two sets. Spin/Ball Speed: I played DGs for a better part of two decades. The B-stones originally had DG X100s installed but I switched to C-Taper S+ over the summer and had about 10 rounds with them prior to the test. The C-Tapers launched/flew higher and spun less than the DGs both visually and with LM data. For me, the C-Tapers just paired well with the B-stones. Bring in the i210s with a higher spinning DG X100, and I was spinning the ball more with the short irons but less with the long irons. Same with the ball speeds, the i210s produced slower ball speeds with the short irons but faster ball speeds with the long irons. Launch/Peak Height: The i210s w/ DG X100s lauched about the same as the J15CBs w/ C-Tapers and the peak height was about the same with the i210s getting a little flatter in the long irons. All in all, when selecting a new set of irons for the bag, make sure you test out a variety of shafts available to the general public because you'll never know when you'll find the perfect combo. For me, it was going back to DG X100s with the i210s. PMookie
Had my first full round with these today. I played a course that’s rated as the best in North Louisiana; one of my favorites. The lofts on these are pretty similar to my Mizunos, but I noticed today that these are about 4-5 yards shorter. Twice I had 130-135 and I pulled my PW, but ended-up closer to 125. No wind knocking it down, so I need to get my yardages going forward. I did hit 11/18 greens, one of the best this year!!! I’m looking forward to more rounds with these. I may get the lofts checked and strengthen them if need be.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro Mr_Theoo, GB13, GolfSpy_APH and 2 others 5 Quote Driver: Ping G430 Max 9*, Ping Tour 70X Fairway: Ping G425 15*, Ping Tour 70X Hybrid: Ping G425 22*, Ping Tour 80X Irons: Ping i230 4-GW, TT DG X100 Wedges: SMS 50D/54V/58DModus 130 stiff, +1” Putter: EAS 1.0 Ball: Titleist 2023 AVX

GolfSpy_APH
Wanted to do a quick follow up now that it's been a few months since stage 2 was posted. I also plan in doing another little write up here or in a new thread after I play in January on a actual course. Anyway, last night was my first time swinging a golf club since the first off November as work and winter came ending my season very abruptly. My father in law and I went to local golf simulator and I was super excited to get some more swings in. I had the beautiful i210 all cleaned up and ready to go and boy did they ever perform. I'm always a little skeptical with the performance the simulators throw out, but after a bit of time in the practice range it was clear most the clubs were flying a bit longer then during testing. However the feel and shoot making abilities really are spectacular. Whether it was a draw, fade or low shot they were all there in my arsenal and readily available. I will now high flights the simulator didn't like, but I've found that with many. I really love the solid responsive feel of the i210 and how the club/ball feel at impact. They really are an exceptional club that do everything asked of them. Hopefully all that transitions back on to the course in January. We ended up playing two rounds and had a 83, 66 (scores I take with a grain of salt). Took me nearly a full time to get a hold of the putting, but once I got the feel it was game on! There will be many new products coming out very soon and with a later season release I hope the i210 doesn't get lost as it truly is a fantastic product by ping which shouldn't be overlooked! GolfSpy_APH
Well it's been a while and since I have some time at the cottage on a snowy Saturday afternoon with not much going on I figured it would about time to do a little off-season recap of my i210... Only another 2 (hopefully) months left till courses open!! My last full round in Canada was November 1st, after that I went to Finland for work for a few weeks and when I came back it was true winter. Can't remember what I shot, but thankfully I do remember having a great time and just enjoying what would be my last round of the season. Over the off season I have managed to play at some local simulators, which has been a lot of fun and good to keep the swing in shape, but it's nothing like the real thing. In January I was fortunate enough to get to go to New Zealand for work and with it being summer there brought my clubs along for the long 34 hour trip down to make sure I got a few rounds in. I managed 3 full rounds at 3 amazing courses and 1 9 hole round at a small course where I was the only person on the course and paid $7 into the honesty box for the 9 holes. Although the play left a lot to be desired with a lot of rust, I still cannot say enough good things about the i210 irons. I really look forward to playing with them and am more impressed with them the more I play with them. The contact on them feels crisp and powerful. My miss hits which there were many of still for the most part produced good results. The biggest part I've noticed the i210 since stage 2 was posted is being able to try different shots and really get responsive feedback from them. Along with that they have worn really well and still look fresh and clean. I do make a effort to keep them in good shape, but 30+ rounds in the wear on them is fantastic and I still feel as though they look pretty darn close to new. I have to admit I have played much better golf in my days, but those 3+ rounds in NZ I ended up leaking a lot to the left and many of them started left and just kept along that path. I can definitely put that down to swing more then the clubs... Also have to shout out once again to @Nunfa0 for not only hosting me at 2 of those rounds, but also pointing out I wasn't exactly lining up square. Probably because I was upside down being on the other side of the world ... Either way I couldn't at all put any fault on the irons. Even now with a big storm coming and my simulator round being cancelled tonight I am itching to get a chance to use them. I cannot wait for the season to start and really think that these irons will help continually improve my game and assist me in breaking par at a course. Soon I'm going to go in and do another gapping test with them and put them up against my back up project set (Ping Anser Forged) to see how they compare iron for iron and shot for shot. Long story short these have been an incredible set and have not only earned their right to be in my back, but will have a heck of a time being beat out by another set. Hope you all enjoy and as always any questions or ideas for further testing for them my way! sirchunksalot, Mr_Theoo, TMAG-FIREMEDIC and 3 others 5 1 Quote as of Nov 6, 2023 (Past WITB) Driver: Paradym TD w/ GD ADDI 6X Driver Shootout!
