We have a tie on the score! Going to have to break out my scorecard and look at the tiebreakers.

Course was everything I thought it would be and then some.

Wind blew a lot harder than initially forecasted. 25mph made and already tough course very challenging.

87 can't complain about that in the high winds. I hope you got some good pics

15 played INTO the wind today.  I'm a relatively long hitter and it took my Driver, Hybrid, Hybrid to get pin high  (missed the green right)

Great stuff Joe, I bet you had a putt lip out to cost me the win😉 Sounds like you really enjoyed your day, glad the sun was shining for you. Only 2 x 3 putts is pretty good going on unfamiliar (and I imagine tough) greens.

Last time I played 15 was also into the wind....Driver, 3 wood and an 8 iron.  I striped the driver and the 3 wood.

So how great and challenging was the course in your opinion?  To this day I would play it anytime no matter what I am doing.

Yeah I pulled my driver off the tee android was in a fairway bunker on the left. I had 175 in on the approach, but with uphill, the cold and the wind it was playing about 215 so I choked down on the hybrid and tried to cut one. Overcut it into the rough right just off the green.

It lived up to every bit of the hype. Each hole was unique. Impeccable design. Challenging and unforgiving, but not unfair. A true shot makers course and I loved every second of it.

I could play that course a thousand times and never get tired of it.

Absolutely beautiful.

But that place would have eaten me alive.

At my best as a seven, I would never have broken 90 at Pine Valley.

I can tell just looking at it.

jlukes did a nice job.

Knowing what I know about what you like in a golf course, I think you would have found a way to build a small hut somewhere off in the woods on the property so that you would never have had to leave.

Looking at those pics, I would be hard pressed to break 90 the first time there.  I'm a visual golfer, and generally score lower on more wide open courses where I can see the landing zone.  Almost every pic you shared I would have been standing on the tee with no visual image of where I am hitting it, and as such, probably pulling or pushing a number of drives right into trees or other areas you wouldn't want to go.  How you broke 90 out there I have no idea.  You are a better player than I am, that is for sure.

Yeah, I'd need at least 5 rounds out there to get to the point where I could step up and swing with confidence with a target in mind.  Brutally tough mental olympics going on at that place.  Now I understand why it is so highly rated.  Not only does it have hazards galore, and tight windows for landing zones, but geez, that just is one fantastic layout.  You are so lucky to have gotten the opportunity to play there.

The caddies their are fantastic and do a great job of telling you yardages and angles you should hit both off the tee and on approaches.
