Press Release From Sun Mountain Sports

Missoula, Montana – Following the mantra, one who stops being better, stops being good, Sun Mountain is rolling out the new and improved Speed Cart GX. Improvements include: a redesigned handle allowing for a larger mesh headcover tray; new, standard mesh basket; improved upper and lower bag brackets that easily adjust to hold a variety of golf bag shapes and sizes; and a built-in bracket to hold the accessory Speed Cart seat. Speed Cart GX is available now with a suggested retail price of $219.99. For the nearest Sun Mountain retailer call 800-227-9224 or visit www.sunmountain.com.

Since ushering in the golf push cart movement in 1999 with the introduction of the Speed Cart, Sun Mountain has continually refined and improved its carts. Current offerings include the three-wheeled Speed Cart GX and Pathfinder 3, and the four-wheeled Pathfinder 4.

Previous years’ improvements that carried over for the Speed Cart GX include bungee straps to more securely hold the golf bag, a mobile phone slot in the storage tray, and an easily adjustable tracking system to keep the cart rolling straight. Additional standard offerings on the Speed Cart GX include an umbrella holder, scorecard holder, and padded storage tray. The ever-growing collection of optional, add-on accessories includes coolers, oversized cupholders, range finder holders, cigar holders, seats, and more, to go along with cart covers and wheel covers.

For 30 years Sun Mountain has been a pioneer in the golf industry, revolutionizing golf bags, golf outerwear and golf carts. Sun Mountain's many innovations, including the first lightweight golf bag and modern stand bag, have made it the top golf bag company in North America. Within golf outerwear, Sun Mountain redefined golf-specific performance first with the windshirt, then fleece, and again with its four-way stretch, waterproof, and breathable rainwear. The Sun Mountain Speed Cart® golf push cart transformed walking carts and created an entirely new category of golf products. Sun Mountain's "Ahead of Time Design" motto drives the company to continually design and refine golf equipment. For the Sun Mountain retailer nearest you call 800-227-9224 or visit www.sunmountain.com.

I keep saying every year, "I'm going to get a good push cart and walk more this year"  Then every year comes and I see how far of walk it is to just the first tee--at my course---and say, "the heck with that"    LOL!

I make a point of walking during our league, but rent one of the really crappy, old pull carts. They suck, but it's better than carrying my own bag.

Seriously, get a push cart, even a cheap one. They are so much better on your back than a pull cart.

Yeah, I know, but I already have to pull driver and 3W out of my bag to get everything in the trunk. It would have to fold to a super small size to fit.

Odd pricing IMO. The price difference between the standard GT Speed Cart and the new and improved GX is only $10. Wonder why they don't just discontinue the GT?

Looks like they hung a mesh sack on the GX and called it NEW. LOL

I see. The only push cart that folds down that small is the Big Max. You could slip it down behind the seat.

I was going to make an inappropriate joke about Big Max, given my screen name, but thought better of it.... 😉

I don't know if I have any more room in the "corner" of my office without creating a fire hazard...LOl   But it would be pretty convenient, to load it up and head out for our 2 or 5 hole loops late in the day.

I have Sun Mountain bag and cart that is about 10 years old now and still working great.  All this time I thought Sun Mountain Sports hailed from Oregon.

Looks good, very like the clicgear 3.5 which is around the early $200 range. How easy to fold/unfold is key as the clicgear was a bit of a faff and made me sell it for a cheap American Golf one which is actually so much easier and practical to use.

Less is more when it comes to push carts, hopefully they havent tried to over engineer it as clicgear did, imo.

I really wish cart manufacturers would include pictures of the carts folded- folded size is pretty important to me.

Agreed. I've seen a few that have the folded dimensions. I would love to get a good push cart, but I have a small trunk and don't want to end up with something that has to ride in the front seat.

The model shown above is one of three. The other models collapse into a smaller foot print, one is a 3 wheeler and the other is a 4 wheeler.

I started with the model that had bungee straps and now have the newer model that does not. Bringing back the straps is a nice touch if on a course with a lot of ups and downs. Outside of that not needed. The accessories such as the seat is a great touch for crowded rounds.

A good line up this year.

This cart would not fit in my car.  I have the 1st Gen SM MicroCart; had it since they came out.  While it's not perfect, it suits my needs and has lasted a long time.  I wondered if I needed the straps when I changed from a SM bag the specifically fit this cart to a Wilson Staff Nexus carry bag, but I don't.  It fits perfectly.

I bought my car based on getting two golf bags and two push carts in the trunk.  There aren't many options!!
