tommc23
I use hearing amplification/reducing hearing aids when hunting and it is amazing the different sounds you hear that you normally wouldn't.

The cart sounds like the jetsons. Iron shots sound interesting. its like a whole new game... Absolutely true! I got my hearing aids at the start of my 18 month absence from golf, so the “golf” sounds were not so noticeable at first upon my return. I attributed most of my issues to losing “the feel around the greens”. The biggest thing for me was the sound off the putter. At first I thought I was really striking the ball hard with a loud “whack” yet still coming up a few inches short. I even got a “quieter” putter and “softer” wedges. Didn’t help. Then Apple updated the iPhone which shut my hearing aids off temporarily. I played without my hearing aids and didn’t leave any putt short. Lesson learned was I was not hitting the ball near as hard as it sounded. I considered making a thread about that. The “Sound of Feel” that Mizuno talks about is a real think. Distance control, especially around the greens, is much different with hearing aids.
