Mr. 82 Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 Thankfully we have a cold front coming through on Saturday, so the high will only be 86. But Sunday will be the bomb, with a high of 71, and a cloudless sky. Yay Fall!!!! I'll probably be playing my home course both days, but haven't really decided yet. It's also FSU homecoming, so I'll just need to show up at the golf course whenever kickoff has occurred and I'll have the whole golf course to myself, while everyone else is getting drunk and watching FSU lose. PlaidJacket Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 I hope to get back on the home course tomorrow. We've had a week or rain off and on. But the temps are good. Tomorrow 64 and maybe some sun peeking through. The course will play slow and long as mowing hasn't been possible for a while and it will be wet still I expect. Should be interesting. On Sunday I'm playing a course right by where I grew up (Superstition Springs GC). When I was a teen, this place was way too swanky for my taste and $4.75/hr wage.. Now that I'm all growed up it's a whole different ball game. Actually the funny thing is that this really is just a mid-road track that's pretty decently priced. Very challenging though! Funny story about this course: When I was in high school, my buddies and I would sneak onto the course at night with snorkel gear and large tube socks in hand to scavenge the lakes for golf balls. We had a guy that would buy them from us for $.10 - $.50 each depending on the condition and brand. Was a great/fun way to make some extra coin but sinus infections ran rampant in our group.. who knows what manner of nasty muck we were swimming around in? They had a night patrol guard too so that added an extra level of excitement to the adventure. My wife and I will be there for two weeks starting the Saturday before WMPO. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

My wife and I will be there for two weeks starting the Saturday before WMPO. I played there once last year but if I recall it was either just before or after re-seeding so the course wasn't in the best shape. They finished their seeding week before last so I'm hoping for better conditions (I'll take pics). The course itself is pretty challenging. Fun if you're on your game and a dog if you don't have things together that day. A lot of strategically placed water that rewards long bombers and marksman.. but will kick ya in the jewels if you're not one or the other. I'm not sure about their prices in January but through November they range from $25 - $55. Hopefully the prices would hold out through the season.
